I used to download 1440p YouTube videos (because my connection isn't fast enough to watch without it buffering all the time) in mp4, and it worked fine. Now, every quality above 1080p is in webm. The problem is that webm doesn't play as smoothly as mp4 does. The same video would stutter in webm, while I'm mp4 it would be fine. Please help by suggesting ways to download 1440p YouTube videos in mp4 or a way to convert webm to mp4 videos on Android (I've already tried one and it only showed the option to convert my 1440p webm video to 1080p mp4).
I'm not sure about the Android version, but the PC version of VLC media player allows you to change the format of media you have saved.
try checking these in the play store or online but be sure to turn on uncertified apk Video Converter Android VidConvert Video Converter Free Any Video Converter or (AVC) Video Converter
Thanks! I've already tried two different video converters and they didn't do the job. I installed VLC player as @Mr. Meh Man suggested and didn't even have to convert it! It played smoothly and there was no stutter. Didn't expect it be better than MX player which was around for way longer on Android.
YouTube premium seem to have the ability to download stuff but if you don't want to pay then try Videoder. It's an Android app that allows you to download YouTube and other video websites stuff. edit: nvm, it seems they only have webm for 1440p and 4k videos. Your best choice is to download the webm and convert it to MP4
Sorry I said that, but you sounded like a jerk Again, I apologize to answer you previous question, it plays 1440p very well. If I play 1080p videos, it wouldn't fill the entire screen, and then I would have to resize the video to fill the screen resulting in quality loss)
running a color film on black and white screen wont help much Are u sure ur device supports higher definition videos?
Youtube support WebM on higher quality because of its faster for streaming which is why you won't be able to get them directly without converting it. Btw if your device doesn't support such quality, it would end up downscaled, which sometimes may look good, possibly because the video was resized or more detail, but there are many times that it look worse because of too much downscale or looks the same compared to normal resolution, which makes it pointless if the video has 1440p. I have a pc that can play games at 4k, but my screen just support 480p, and downscaling the games that have 4k, sometimes change the color of the ambient(makes it ugly) or make it more jagged compared to 480p.
