News Zongheng's going international!

After what happened with Qidian...

 

I see some novels that are also on our beloved Wuxiaworld... Will NUF start hating on this site like they did QI, or have the users here finally got their heads out of their asses?

 

Either RWX is a shitty business man or he got screwed twice in a row.

Err, or Zongheng asked for the right to make use of Wuxiaworld translations, negotiated with Wuxiaworld over it, and Wuxiaworld agreed to it (and will even help them advertise their site via announcements and links on our own). If Qidian had asked and negotiated instead of just stole, we probably would've worked out something with them as well. But keep shilling, you'll make it one day.

 

As long as they don't pull a qidian, they will be fine. Unlike Qidian they haven't tried anything scummy or shady. They are decent at least

 

Majority hate for no reasons other than because it's cool to hate on Qi, many hate that it becomes pay to read and some hate their business practices. If Zhongheng doesn't do shits that Qi done, no one will hate them. In fact, they'll be seen as a saviour if they proceed properly.

 

A reader sent this thread to me, and since many of volare's novels are on ZH's English site as well, I feel compelled to weigh in some. I don't know what WW's arrangement is with them so can't speak there.

Yes, our novels are dual hosted with our agreement and permission. They let us know in advance when the English site was going up and request updates of our novels instead of scraping them off our site without so much as a by-your-leave. Readers of any of our novels can tell that it's our work, 100%, instead of another translation group hired to hijack the novel, and they are following our agreement to a T.

Anyhow, that's Qidian and its supporters for you. It's like stealing a magazine from a store, watching as someone else buys another copy of the magazine, then goes "See! They now have the magazine as well! They did the same thing I did!"

Huh, I could've sworn there were atleast a few sites looking very much like qidian in the appearance, but that one wasn't one

I bet they(ZongHeng)'ll adhere their cooperation with RWX, on the titles he took... Unlike some certain *ahem*

 

We'll probably be seeing many other chinese publishers starting to go international now. Qidian spearheaded it and have shown others that it works (i'd assume, since they're still expanding there must be some success), and now that someone else is trying, more will probably soon follow.

If that's good or not, who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've visited the site and they really need to put more work on them. There's no spacing between paragraph. I hope they'll have their own apps like qidian.
