News Zongheng's going international!

This is for original works, not translations. The terms are not the same. That being said, you are right, Zhongzheng terms for original authors are muddy as hell and very unclear.

yes i was talking about originals...
it's very sad because alot of people want to leave WN, but with terms like that, the second the authors come onto ZH, that book is considered worthless in the eyes of publishers despite not even being contracted by ZH

 

Am I only one excited who's exited about new drama going to be? It would be sad if it doesn't.

I don't know if members of this community are naive or stupid.
Most sites were not licensing until a year or so ago. It is very low cost compared to original sites like Zongheng who paid authors.
Book publishing is a lottery. Only ignorant fools will be surprised that a book publisher tries to milk as much as they can.
I wonder the percentage of authors paid per word that actually earn enough revenue to cover their salaries

 

Honestly, guys, the Zongheng site isn't really even 'live' live yet; notice how they haven't been posting any news, advertisements, announcements on other sites, etc? And as noted, they haven't even activated the ability to create an account on the site yet. Just relaaaaax.

As an original author I’ll ask you to give them a slight nudge on the right direction regarding the author’s terms in their site so they can fix it before they truly launch the site. I mean, rules are fine and all, but people won’t even have a contract and their work will be available for Zhongzheng to do as will from day one. This is not a good idea. As much as it hurts me to say, I believe WN’s model for uncontracted originals is better. You post on their site following the rules, they give you readers and that is it. Anything more than that comes after a contract. I believe ZZ should do the same.

i hope ren and volare will notice this and raise it with them since they are the only ones with a direct connection the ZH...

like i said before, with the current tos, the second u put your stuff there, it become worthless in a split second in the eyes of publishers.

it also seems like they are planning to make everything posted there a "contracted" work and use the same format as their cn site....
