    >_> so I'm trying to get my sister to start reading asian novels and stuff, and she said she wanted to read a good romance. so that's pretty much the requirements. Nothing too extreme (my older sister is a bit innocent), and maybe avoid black bellies?

    Might want to avoid Josei and do shoujo first. Chinese Novels with female protags usually feature a lot of Chinese terms as there is nothing in English to possibly describe them
    So it might be harder for her to get immersed in it.... how bout the classic Toradora? (I know it's not classic but it's well known in the manga/anime community)

    Just trying to convince myself I'm seeing things right. The cold-hearted, cruel, evil, THE FINAL BOSS of NUF is actually asking about romance novel.

    Edit: "Good romance" is subjective though, Asians have a different view on courtship. 'A Slight Smile is Very Charming' for example is a typical story where the woman is smitten with a Prince Charming-type figure, the commonly found trope in dramas with handsome leading men (especially Korean dramas).

    The Demoness Is Not Evil is story with a somewhat equal relationship, the most 'modern' despite it's wuxia setting.

    To Be A Virtuous Wife on the other hand emphasizes the superiority of the female MC in a relationship, she all but wraps the man around her little finger.

    not exactly romance but my sister liked Legend of the Sun Knight
    also Hikaru ga Chikyuu ni Itakoro. Just look for the PDF but there is also a manga that only covers the 1st vol if you want a taster
