#SD12 - D rank - Slay 5 Bandits [ 150 G ]

Spoiler: My First "Normal" Mission

After searching for half an hour I finally found a bandit camp, I was lucky that there were exactly five bandits there so I didn't need to search for more of them.

I didn't like killing people but they were an exception, killing, raping and pillaging, to me these men didn't deserve to live in this world.

Unsheathing my katana as I silently approached then, it didn't seem like they noticed as it was night and there where trees around, the nearest bandit was around tree or four meters ahead of me and the others around a bonfire five or six meters ahead.

Kicking the ground and dashing towards the nearest bandit then slitting his neck... !?
And his head went flying towards the others, it seems like I used too much strength.

With shocked faces they looked at their friend's head rolling through the floor, without giving them a chance to react I dashed at then and swinged my katana at the nearest's belly.

'Are they made of paper!?' I though stunned as the bandit got cut in half, then one of them charged to me with a sword.

'How can he be so slow and weak!?' I though as I easily deflected his attack and decapitated him.

As another one attacked me with an ax and I easily dodged then punched him in the chest.

*Crack*

I heard a strange sound and he went flying, when I looked at my glove it was covered with blood.

*Clank*

The last bandit dropped his daggers and was shaking with fear.

*Slash*

As I killed him I pondered, 'Since I defeated that earth dragon I felt like my body was slightly lighter, could it be that something happened to my body?'.

After searching the bandit camp I found a few armors and weapons, but since I didn't have one of those magical purses that let you carry a lot of things despite being so small I couldn't take these things, the only things I took was 16 gold coins.

While I returned to Delta Town I took a break to eat a few cookies I received from a certain priest.

'Yummy I love strawberry flavor' although it's shape was a bit ominous it was also delicious.

==Dancchi deriyo?==

this will be my very 1st time hunting for a firebird, deri.
people told me i could find them between volcano and the north mountain, deri.
so i departed, deri.
i need to do it fast because i'm also a receptionist, deri.

it didn't take too long to find a flock of firebirds, deriyo?
they were flying in a circle, deri.
i could kill them all but i only need one, deri.
so i waited for one of them to stray or descended far from the rest, deri.

with my initium eyes, i only 'ptew'-ed a blowdart and it died just like that, deri.
un, i'm glad this killing method doesn't deliver any pain, deri.
it's also for animal welfare, deri.
or monsters welfare, derika?

oh, right, on the way there i passed the remnants of our beloved city, deri.
behind those cooled down ruins there were bandits hiding, deriyo.
perhaps they had mistaken me for some weak young white foxkin, deri.
so they encircled me, deri.

fool bandits, deriyo?
i didn't even need to spend my stamina using initium eyes, deriyo?
just one quick [kikyou] and i lopped about 15 heads, deri.
no mercy for bad humans, deri.

i tried to talk to them, but they won't listen to me, deri.
so i had no choice, deri.

back to Delta, i didn't stop and just dived to the sea, deri.
sea snakes are D ranked so i thought they would live in shallow water, deri.
i guessed right, deriyo?
there were about a group of 3 snakes aggressively chomped at my cocoon, deri.
their fangs broke, deriyo?
ah, snakes can't think, deri.
if only they think my initium slime cocoon could be penetrated by such small fangs, deri...

anyway, the last 2 sea snakes i shot from above, deri.
i didn't know the reason but they fled from me, deriyo...
i'm not scary, deri!

then i went to treacherous port for highwaymen quest, deri.
on my way there i once again hitchhiking a merchant like i did before, deri.
and another success, deriyo?
why bad men always idiot derika?

highwaymen creeped slowly and tried to sneak attack us, deri.
though their numbers were not as many as before, it was around 6 highwaymen, compared to 30 men before...

don't care, deri~

6 bloody proofs get! deri~

finally i arrived at treacherous port, deriyo.
i reported about my highwaymen case, deri.
there i found Mr. Mask having fun with someone, deri.
he asked me "are you on a quest?" derika?
so i told him i was reporting, deri.
the last thing left was quest for a lesser kraken, deri.

suddenly someone near the pier shouted, deri.
"SOMEBODY HELP! KRAKEN GOT MY WIFE AND KID!"

or not, derika? if we didn't act fast there would have been victims, deriyo?

suddenly Mr. Mask handed me a mask, deri.
"this will help you underwater, put it on." was what he said, deri.
we were ready to dive and slay the kraken, and the mask was surprisingly comfortable to wear deri~
ah, before we dived i told him that i want to stab the kraken using my dagger, deri.
who knows i could gain more power after absorbing it, deriyo?


==Khaos's POV==

"Congratulations once again Westby! Come let's keep drinking!" I replied as I raised my glass of alcohol.

"Haha, thanks my friend. That present of yours is a real treasure. My son will cherish it forever." Westby thanked.

"No problem."

Suddenly, at the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of a familiar figure...it was Dancchi. I gestured towards Westby saying that I'll be gone for a while. He waved me off and told me to go do my business. I think he may have mistaken me but oh well.... Anyways, I walked up towards the foxkin. Our eyes meet. I waved hello and asked, "What brings you here? A quest?"

"Yes, I'm reporting a quest deri." Dancchi replied, "I've got one more quest left - the Lesser Kraken...know where I can find any, derika?"

"Lesser Krakens eh? That's tough...you can find them all over the place at sea...just need to have the patience to look or luck."

"HELP! SOMEBODY HELP! THERE'S A KRAKEN! IT'S GOT MY WIFE AND CHILD!" Someone shouted as he ran across the streets...well speak of the devil, Lady Luck never ceases to amaze.

"How good are you in water?" I asked.

"I'm weak underwater, deri..." She mumbled...her head bowed in embarrassment.

"Haha, no worries. I'll help you out. Let's form a party and do this quest together." I replied, which the little foxkin nodded her head in agreement.

Then, I reached into my bag and grabbed Mask of the Bomber. I summoned Shadow and told him I will be taking the Kraken quest with Dancchi. He granted permission and de-summoned. Then, I grabbed a Mask of the Water Maiden and handed it to Dancchi.

"Here, this will help you a lot. It will help you breathe underwater and increase your swimming capabilities by 100%. Not to mention, it also regenerates your a little of your health while underwater."

"Thanks, deri~"

"Come on, let's go to the docks."

We headed towards the docks just in time to see the Kraken about to pull the unlucky wife and kid into the waters. Using Flow Like Wind, I immediately appeared before the tentacles that held the wife and kid and slashed them with my skinning knife. The Kraken dropped the hostages and roared in pain. Activating Roaming the Skies, I kept myself afloat while I dove towards the falling wife and kid and grabbed onto them.

"Catch!" I roared at Dancchi and the husband while I threw the kid towards Dancchi and the wife towards her husband.

Next, I flew in front of the Kraken's head and Dragon Palm it. The force of my attack pulverized the Kraken's head causing massive bleeding from every part of its orifices. The Kraken didn't die since I held back...after all, Dancchi wants to deal the final blow. I motioned for Dancchi to dive into the waters and stab the weakened Kraken. Dancchi put on my mask and dove into the waters. She approached the Kraken and thrust her knife into the head.

After a period of time underwater, Dancchi resurfaced with a smile on her face. She must have gotten something good. When she approached me, I told her that the quest is done. I won't be going with her back to the guild as I have something else to do so I tell her to go report back to the guild first. Seeing her leave, I went back to Westby's mansion to continue celebrating his son's birthday.

==Deri deri~==

Mr. Mask's strength was great even underwater, deri.
i wonder if it because of his masks, derika?
un, he's a senior adventurer afterall, deri.
no wonder if he's strong, deri.

i dove in and quickly swam to the near death kraken, deri.
it was heavily weakened only after one punch underwater, deriyo~
that made my work so easy, deri~
plus the mask made me swam much much quicker, deriyo!

*stab*
and the kraken... huh? it wasn't mummified, deriyo?
instead it became something like flat balloon after i sucked its life force, deri?
that was funny, deriyo!
it was a good thing i was in my submarine cocoon, deri.
if not i would be drowned because i laughed too hard, deri!

when i surfaced i saw Mr. Mask gave a thumbs up to me, deri.
i guess i have done everything i needed so i told him that i was going back, deri.
but Mr. Mask said he still has something to do so he said i was to go home alone, deri.
well, doesn't matter, deri.

after i thanked him again i went back with a flat kraken inside my sack, deri.
of course along with other completion proof, deriyo?

notable information, deri! bandits are really roaming freely around ruins of adventurer city. it would be better to take care of bandits before reconstruct the city, deri!
