https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbie#.22Barbie_Syndrome.22 *smh* You're going to fight with me about toy branding with a mental illness? Sure... nice idea
`-` oh god ... monster is a brand of energy drink . I suppose I can't call a monster as a monster or I'll get sued as well , it's a brand I mean so it's not good anymore to call a monster as a monster Barbie is the brand , yeah . But the definition of a Barbie doll , I already told you but I see that you can't read what it means . and check that fking origin if you're blind ORIGIN 1950s: diminutive of the given name Barbara. while the company is from 1959
^ implies that this sect is a sect about people named Barbara If that's the case then suuuuuuuure~ I'll give If it's about the doll, then use your fucking brain~ Man, you need a brain~ Calling a monster a monster isn't wrong, just like how calling a Barbara as Barbie isn't wrong. But try making a energy drink and calling it Monster. Hopefully you won't get sued. Good luck
`-` did you even read that definition ? Barbie - a doll representing a conventionally attractive young woman. ORIGIN 1950s: diminutive of the given name Barbara. I wonder if you even bothered to read that reply or even bothered to go and press on that link with the definition . I see no wrong to call any type of doll that IS representing a conventionally attractive young woman as a BARBIE . It fits the definition of what a Barbie doll is hence it's a Barbie doll . simple as that . and yeah , there's the brand Barbie . where did I go tell you that i'm talking about branded dolls ? I've been talking and posted about Barbie type of dolls this whole time . Did you even read anything of what I wrote ? those pics I posted fits the definition of a Barbie hence they can be called as Barbie dolls as well , not branded Barbie dolls but Barbie dolls and I'll end here because it's useless to argue with someone that can't check the dictionary for a few words when the entire internet is at his/her disposition
And how many times do I have to tell you that calling just any type of doll a barbie doll will get people sued~ Barbie doll is a brand. Can I call Pepsi a coke? nope. Why? Because I have a brain. I do admit that there are people who view barbie dolls as the perfect woman/attractive woman. Heck, I have a friend who idolises Barbie dolls because she wants to be just like her. But, at least the doll she idolises is a real fucking barbie and not ripoffs like you~ If you want to call every female doll a barbie then whatever~ I'm not the one with a stupid, misguided sect Oh and now, at least I won't be surprised if you call Gatorade, Monster
when did I say every female doll ? a conventionally attractive young woman doesn't fit for every female dolls but sure ,every doll as you say.. `-` both of pepsi and coke are soda drinks . They are a TYPE of drink called soda . I've been telling you about TYPE of dolls all the time but I see that it's hard for you to understand such a basic thing . From what I see , you're the one that is stupid and misinformed talking about the brand when I tell you that Barbie is also a TYPE of doll , not just a BRAND . It's just too hard for narrow minded people like you to call something differently than you're used to ,even if it FITS the definition of such a TYPE of doll .
I understand exactly what you say. You're saying, if a doll is beautiful and looks like an attractive woman, then it's okay to consider it a Barbie doll. However, I wonder if you ever heard of over branding? It's when you promote your item so much that sometimes, consumer starts to associate that brand with every brand of it's type. For example, in my country, Ajinomoto was so over branded that these days, we call MSGs as Ajinomoto. Same with the diapers brand, Pampers. The chocolate malt drink, Milo. The container brand, Tupperware. Does that mean it's okay to call every container a Tupperware? Every chocolate mat drink Milo? Every diapers Pampers? Every MSG Ajinomoto? Every attractive female doll Barbie? You can decide that. I say no. But who am I to impose my opinion on you, right?
If it appears in the dictionary as a type of such products . Then yeah , I would continue to call them like that because technically it wouldn't be wrong to do such . <_< I wouldn't go and call popsicles on different brands name just because there's a brand called popsicle just as I won't go call every doll on their own brand name when it fits the category of being called as a type of Barbie doll
Well, I guess that's that. But I definitely won't allow my children or myself to call American Girls or Blythe or Bratz as a Barbie~ EDIT: I would definitely call Ken a Barbie Doll though because everybody knows that he's nothing but a Barbie accessory
