Thinking of playing Black Desert Online. Could I get a list of top 5 tips and tricks or top 5 things a new player should know?
1. Big monitor for the UI covering your entire game 2. Have a wiki open at all times 3. Pay lots of that hard earned money
Just don't. Grindy, repetitive, pay to win, and ultimately full of completely pointless but massively time-wasting systems. Some of it's pretty novel, though. Managing a worker empire is interesting, at least.. and the action combat is pretty sweet... The graphics are pretty good and the environments are fucking cool in some places. But they also made a lot of stupid design decisions and, really, the game just gets old fast.
Learn the node system. Connecting nodes/cities improves storage space, crafting/productions, trade, and even leveling I think? Not sure about new content, it's been ...a year? since I played. Was banned. I found an exploit in the game that allowed you to decrease your levels but keep your skill points, so you could literally max the skill tree. It was patched.
This isnt really a tip but it should give an idea what your up against first is for like a year and a half on english servers people have been collecting daily silver sooo your way behind on that easily a few mil a month just from your fame second theres no hard level cap meaning even if you hit the soft level cap which last i played was 60 you still have to grind more
In my opinion, XIV all the way. But the two are entirely different games in every sense of the word. Comparing them directly isn't really accurate.
Expect to become poor in just a month. B&S is better(though I havent played it yet) Graphics are awesome and the play style is a bit similar to black desert. Also, it's free-to-play MMORPG.
There was a new mmo in development recently that got funded on kickstarter for extra content..looked like it might be what everyone thought BDO was going to be.(forget the name, might have been infinity studios making it I think) Edit: Ashes of Creation by Intrepid Studios
This basically sums everything Black Desert is up. Well the game is catered to the Whales and Young Masters so we, poor players, can't do bat shit about it other than to grind and grind.
