"This user's reading list isn't public" I want to people to be able see my reading list through the damn link on the damn profile page. I damn struggled really hard to find on how to enable it, but to damn no avail. Now, I have three damn question(problems). 1- how to enable my own damn thing 2- which "genius" decided to, and for what stupidty, make these list auto-hidden from the beginning. 3- I used to swore a lot to the people who hid their reading list, I understand a genius is responsible for this now as even my own list is hidden, even to me, what kind of a controversy is this?
1 go to ur reading list then to global settings and click on enable public link 2/3 some people like me don t want their reading list to be public for some reason ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Btw, if you want to exclude a list from the public one, you can: 1. Click on one of the lists you don't want included (ex. A list for what novels to read) 2. Go to "Global Setting" 3. Click "Hide from Public Reading List" And to answer your questions, many people don't want others to see their reading lists or they don't want to share.
I don't agree. 99 of 100 people's public list is hidden (automatically). I think 80-90 of them doesn't even know what is what. (like "oh, it's hidden? what? is there such a thing? lol hohoh") 5-10 of them want to hide their nickname's preferences. 1-2 of them coincidentally click 'enable tick' and open, or casually enable the feature while wandering around options (if they could find it) And we have a genius, a proffesor of statistics and calculation. And also a defender of humanity. (the username "momo-chan"'s prefences should be hidden as human rights auto-beginningly)
People in anonymous places generally prefer to have their privacy hidden. Just deal with it and move on.
1) Use the search feature and learn to spend some time reading posts http://forum.novelupdates.com/threads/reading-list-tutorial.3120/ 2) @Tony 3) It's better to hide by default than trespassing on one's privacy and air out their dirty laundry preferences 4) I don't like rude people. I don't like you. Goodbye.
I have no problem with that. Anyone who thinks they must also hide their nickname's preferences, they can hide it by ticking on the feature. The problem is making default, adding 999/1000 of people as well. This makes every damn ones list prohibited. A good source of recommondation is wasted. And some people have their feelings to not understand and keep supporting. Logic and statistic is with me. Those people can have their opinions to themselves. I don't give a damn
Don't go assuming. Majority of people want others to view their reading list. Many people value their privacy.
