Cleaning up tags on NU

err.. i don't trust poll that much. a public, anon-infested one, i mean

hm.. is it possible that usage of clever and cunning differs depending on where you are (in the world) ? that would be hard to settle then

 

say alchemy and pill concocting is pretty much the same if we're talking about Chinese novels right? Just encounter a novel where it had both of them as tag

 

now that you mention it, i can't recall alchemy being used for other purpose in CN cultivation novel. same goes for JPs. while at it, Pill Master should go away too, imho

 

they will always fall under the category of alchemy aside from weapon refining and spirit something something

nope. not me. although i do purge tags, but when i do, i usually purge or replace 1 whole tag at a time, for example, Different World --> Alternate World / Fantasy World / Parallel World, andvBody Refining --> Body Tempering. i never remove whole bunch, unless its newly added, misspelled or weird tag(s). perhaps its one of the mods, or other regular editor? . the only way anyone able to that is truly read and follow that novel, although seems like a lot of legit tags removed too >.<

there are several more that i removed/merged/replace during this week, but it is mostly newly added tags, so not in this list

 

I was removing it from series that had "Overpowered Protagonist"

 

Excuse me, but someone has been keeping replacing tags, such as royalty, kings, princesses etc. with Aristocracy, which I find absolutely nonsensical and politically incorrect and ignorant. Aristocracy means by definition the government by a selected few and where the governing power is shared, absolutely not to be confused with royalty/monarchy, where the sole authority rests in one or two individuals' hands. But most of all, it is a European term (except for Nigeria and India and possibly perhaps other former colonies)!

Apologies if it may seem nitpicky, but I thought if we made at least the effort to open up a forum and discuss about it, we might as well make sure it stays correct.

 

I am quite sorry if it did irk you but we had multiple series tagged with nobles, princes, princesses, ect. And well we didn't need all those tags to represent that this novel had a single person or a group of people who have a lot of power ruling over the people.

The first thing that I thought of that would be common would be "Aristocracy" and so that is why I decided to make it tagged as such. I can change it but I would like a common word to replace the ones I mentioned.

btw, aristocracy vs nobles, isn't refers to the same thing? should we merge it?

 

Hmmmm I don't know... Royalty usually refers to the King and his family right? What about the other nobles?

How about "Royalty and Nobility"?

That way we can get merge nobles under that too?
