So there's a consensus that my list is a failure. Welp time to scrap it and go hide in a corner.

Besides that Is there a anything in it that is most definitely not needed as a tag. @Shio @OverlyFriendly

Also I will modify the list again in the future to include even more detail as to why we don't needed. Spent a lot of time making this list, didn't put to much thought into the reasoning because of tiredness.

I think it's a fine tag. And yes it does, appearance is not only your god given looks but the facial traits one might develop in life as well as your general attitude towards the public and how the public perceived you. How one dresses, and mannerisms are also included in this.

Just think of anyone who developed a "severe" expression because they frown a lot for many years. One might not expect that this person is actually a bundle of joy and a joker.
You wouldn't think an old homeless person in the street that looks like he's been at it for some time is actually a rocket scientist, but he/she might be.
Someone who's mightily effeminate and well has all the typical mannerisms that some gay man have might make people think he's also in the sub-group of gay man. That person could be straight.

There's a real common examples of this in novels : All those big middle age warrior type dudes in adventurer's guilds that have have a severe look and strike fear into for their "meanness" everyone under them. But actually at home, their hobby is "womanly" stuff like baking. To boot they're actually real nice and the MC gets a bunch of help from them. No one outside of the MC and his group actually has experienced this, and no one believes them when they try to tell people.

For MCs you have things like : Everyone perceives the MC is a pervert for XYZ reason, but he's actually totally not one ( no really he just "slips" and all, so many misunderstandings...)

Racist/xenophobic undertones can also be a factor in this tag : World who believes dark/black hair/eyes are cursed or w/e, it's pretty common. So many interactions the MC has with strangers is based on a false premise that because he has X appearance he must be Y in personality.

One possibly pretty big application of this tag would be non-human protagonists like the skeleton MC sub-genre. A lot of interactions begin with characters thinking he's something to be purified because he's an evil undead.

Edit: Eh, now that I think about it, there's the misunderstood protagonist tag that includes a decent chunk of the cases for this tag. This is what you get for trying to use your brain at 2 AM.
Although not all misunderstood protagonists are misunderstood because of their appearances. Sometime it's just circumstances of their actions.

Shouldn't we merge "acupuncture" with "medicine", since acupuncture is always associated with Chinese medicines. I can see why you might want a separate tag for it though, since it's very niche.

"Complex Family Relationships" is pretty much "Drama" in a nutshell, no need to make it anymore complicated than that, unless it's incest.

"Dungeon in real world" should just be Dungeon, regardless of what world it is in. I mean, Dungeon tag can team up with Modern World tag to tell the user it is a dungeon in modern world.

"First-time Intercourse" is tag as either Virgin or Defloration in hentai sites.

"Torture" can be replace with "Gore" since gore is more broad.

"VRMMORPG - Virtual reality + MMORPG", just call it gaming. The only exception is being transported to a game world, I have no idea how to deal with that in tags.

drama is a genre. what this tag does, imho, describe mc's background setting, such as incestous feeling, or vengeance, or misunderstandings

modern world =/= real world. because modern world can include futuristic setting with space ship and all. basically, modern world can also already include magic. this tag represent sudden occurence, or apocalyptic, like in GDW

Debateable. Modern World often refer to the civilization of present day. Once it gets to futuristic stuff and advance technogy, it is often categorizes as SciFi. If in the past, it's historical.

The rest are reasonable arguement.

actually, the tag we currently use to describe 'current/short term future' is Modern Day. if it is sci-fi (which is actually a genre), we use Futuristic Setting (+ Alternate World if necessary) as the accompanying tag(s)
so if a dungeon were to pop-up in our world, it would not have "Alternate World tag, nor Futuristing Setting. But it could still have a [sci-fi] as a parent genre (ex: alien came)
