so if in the harem there is A, B and C and MC wnats to be with C but A and B doesn´t want it, it should be ok because they are fighting over MC? oO in which sick brain makes this sense? the MC shoudl decide who gets him/her/it, not the annoying flies!

 

Generally . In xianxia. Person A,B,and C does not have any problems with living together. This is one of the fundamentals for a good harem. Even in real life. And even now, in middle eastern countries

I don't like harem but I found some harem novels to be very good, in a way that the harem doesn't obstruct the MC in their journey. They're also not a deus ex machina used once every ten chapters. There are good and bad novels out there. See which ones you like and see which ones you don't.

As for myself... Return from the Immortal World had the chance to be a good novel. But once you've read the raws, you'll realise that reading it is not a good investment. The way the author handled the harem is also terrible. Do yourself a favor, look up the reviews (or read the raws till it gets chaotic), and stop reading it.

In xanxia's everyone is basically driven insane from power.. everyone. The mc? crazy. The villains? insane. The love interests? they range from clingy sociopaths to full on yanderes. Good luck finding reasonable well balanced people in that type of setting lol.

 

bah, until the person's in an actual relationship and both he and his love interest both blunty/directly tell the others off, he's fair game. whether or not he appreciates their attention is irrelevant, if he doesn't open his mouth to tell them in very explicit words just what's goin on then some people are still going to think they have a chance if they prove themselves. if they keep going, even after and start causing problems, then although they could be considered part of the harem, they're in an antagonist role, rather than the "heroines". not to mention, if you want a person to seem more "date-able", you just attach a woman to his arm, and then people start thinking they might be missing something. such things are reasonable, to a point. if the MC has no actual redeeming qualities for a person to be interested in him in the first place beyond "for the plot", then everything after would just be horrible anyway, no matter how it's done.

as for what i was saying, he may not even want any of them, but they all want him. yanderes aren't particularly rational when they get going. at that point, it's not about what he wants. such proactive harem members would usually require much more character building to make interesting than an MC that's basically goin off a check list "person A is nice with huge tits", "person B is a loli", and "person C is an elf". they have little else to their character beyond their features, the mc only has very simple interactions amounting to either telling them what to do and/or screwing them, and if the mc happens to be away from them, they basically stop doing anything important to the story unless they're abducted.

 

Probably the writers wish fulfillment.

 

umm do you realize that as an example i told from Returnign from the immortal world where he word for word tells her he doesn´t want a girlfirend or woman the next years and she shoudl find another man? oO

how is telling someone i want to be only friends not an clear signal? how much clearer must one get?!
