Discussion Does Satan count as Anti-hero?

You know...
I've been thinking that if there were a story about evil vs good and yes, it can be subjective, then can an MC with a similar setting to the Devil, yes, that Devil, be a anti-hero even though they're the enemy of the world?

And would that story be a likable one where you can sympathize with that kind of MC?

What are you thoughts fellow authors, readers and critics.

"Release that Witch." The anti-hero [The Church] kills all the witches and uses their blood to create super-soldiers to protect the greater good, killing the devils. The church isn't the MC so most readers can't sympathize and understand that the Church is saving the world by prosecuting witches.

Yes. Lord satan, if you know your mythology, only ever sought to enlighten humanity whilst God would just have us slaves, rotting in ignorance. Most depictions of Satan or the equivalent of Satan in other cultures have always been a person who has brought knowledge to mankind.

Yet that knowledge had nearly always been deemed sinful or forbidden or some such thing. Why? Because the so-called gods want to keep up stupid, malleable.

Hail Lord Satan, Bringer of Knowledge, Liberator of Mankind!

 

What anti-hero satan is actually a hero...he is the hero that we need not the one we deserve....

Guess you haven't read the bible. At all.

 

Write story with satan as the MC and you won't live for long. Extreme religious group would snap your neck and cut your tongue while watching Netflix.

Satan is the hero, and God is the anti-hero. If you tally up the deaths in the bible, Satan cause very few, maybe 10, whereas the minimum estimate for God's kills is 2.4 million, though God probably killed many more, considering e.g. the flood.

Satan always has been anti-hero. Its the story which either focuses on hero or anti-hero

 

Well... I read some and he seems like an okay dude.

 

Why Netflix of all things and those dialogues remind of a novel that was funny like that but I can't remember what the title was, tho.

 

Actually, if we were to look at Bible and ignore the bias within, one could argue that Satan is actually a heroic character of that fictitious story. Hero who lost, was defeated and punished by a cruel tyrant.
