Well, there are things that just get screwed over all in the name of raking in more cash (Like how KOTOR continued on to in SWTOR). Plus the decline of the RTS genre makes Warcraft 4 coming out all the more bleak. Wonder what would happen if Blizzard releases Warcraft 4 only to have the story continue from where WoW left off? Kek.
They are not that set as sequel as set as "in same universe" in terms of SWTOR, while it do nod at events of KOTOR with appearance of things and that the KOTOR have taken place prior. It is still quite abit of time in between the events.
Well, IIRC the story from where KOTOR II left off was directly continued in a novel before concluding Revan's story in SWTOR. Frankly, I'm quite dissatisfied about Revan's conclusion but it was Bioware's call. Not that it doesn't matter that much anymore since Disney decided to label the expanded universe as legacy content (which is a subtle way of saying they're not canon) in preparation to begin a reboot via the abomination that is the Force Awakens. Fuck you, Disney.
Yah, that I know, i've done that particular instance, but not the raid. Tbh, if you play SWTOR as a standalone game from a single player story perspective... it is not terrible but totally not what I was after.
Well, it does have its own merits and was quite innovative on how it drove the story but... something feels off about it. And I'm not quite satisfied about the Bounty hunter class. Didn't give the option to let me go full virboblade to the face.
It would be a horrible idea business-wise I believe, the people that played the Warcraft games and the ones that played WoW should be vastly different, the old players would have no sense of continuity with it as they lost the part of the story that was in the MMO. However, as RTS is a genre that is declining as you said, it's quite unlikely to ever see if this kind of supposition will ever become true. It is quite a shame to have the canon of the stories of Star Wars being completely disregarded to create a new one with Force Awakens, specially with the low quality both of the movies they released so far had... I am quite skeptical towards the Star Series at the moment. I do not know much about the... Expanded universe? Is that the term? Of Star Wars, but I doubt it is as terrible as those movies by Disney.
Command & Conquer: Renegade - Wasn't very popular but the multiplayer was awesome (i.e. checkout Renegade X) Command & Conquer Red Alert - Red Alert 3 was great but I was hoping they'd make another one. Chrono Trigger / Chrono Cross - I want a sequel to both. Grim Fandango - It's an point and click adventure game. Full Throttle - Another adventure game. The Dig - Same as the last two. I could probably come up with more if I thought about it, but that's all I have right now.
Radical Dreamers was the in-between, but i don't think it answered enough questions to call it a proper sequel to chrono trigger linking the 2 worlds and explaining things. there was a definite lack of answers and resolution after chrono cross, though.
Radical Dreamers wasn't even a real sequel as it was primarily text based with just pictures. That isn't a game it's more like a visual novel than anything, it also wasn't really released for the Super Famicon it was released on the Satellaview add-on which was only released in Japan. I hardly call that a sequel it's more of a footnote if anything.
I'd love another S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game, as they are amazing games. Revisiting the Zone in a more modern graphics engine would be so cool.
