Who else realised after reading this that Lin Ming (Martial World) went out of his way to turn his Ex's life into hell by jumping levels and face slapping Zhu Yan, then extending his "protection" & "care" to her afterwards?

It's Lin Ming but with a ring instead of a cube in his heart. The circumstances are a bit different, the Hatchet Elder for example, but it's the same general template as Lin Ming. And if it follows that same pattern, I conclude that even if Ye Jing became part of the sect, without all these problems, he wouldn't care about it much and jump boat to a more powerful sect when given the chance.

Pretty much all "sons of heaven"/"reincarnated assholes" that we see in this novel are based on xianxia tropes, so you might recognize them if you've read the popular ones. On that note, the meeting between Ye Jing and Meng Wan smells like TMW to me, with the Extreme Yin body and Yang body complementing each other.

 

Yeah, and so far our MC has encountered 2 SoH* characters (Ye Jing and Zhao Hao) and stole all of the attention that was originally meant for them and pushed their fates away from the tracks that they were originally on. I have a feeling that there is going to be many more of these types, and our MC is going to have to fight them every step of the way.

On the bright side, we probably won't have to put up with much filler, since when one SoH character disappears to get another lucky chance another will be able to take his/her place and keep up the plot's pace.

On the other hand, our MC will probably suffer many, many tribulations and headaches ... which if you think about will still be entertaining for us so it won't be all bad (for us).

To be fair, Zhao Hao hasn't deviated from the SoH path too much; not like Ye Jing in any case. Though he probably will, since he goes against Broad Creed Mountain and Sunset Sect(or whatever).

True. His plan to become king probably won't succeed since he's going up against Yan Zhaoge and Broad Creed Mountain, and will thus join the Immortal Mountain Sect (sorry I can't remember the exact name). However, I wonder if that is instead a more SoH path since he will be able to focus more on cultivation and alchemy/pill refinement in the sect. In any case, we'll find out in the coming chapters.

 

He would then become a thorn in the side of Broad Creed Mountain and Yan Zhaoge, since he can develop the Boundless Mountain Something-something's alchemy and rise through the ranks fairly quickly I presume. So, the best outcome would be to destroy him now, though he could become a background threat waiting to appear after some time has passed and Ye Jing is no more.

True, Ye Jing is just a rabid dog, Zhao Hao is a bigger economic & political threat.

 

Going by the development, ye jing and zhao hao are already enemies with yan zhaoge. when will a SoH wholeheartedly befriend Zhaoge? as a Senior Brother?

 

Senior Brother might be aimed at the normal/genius disciples of Broad Creed Mountain, which he already is. As for SoH's, it depends if there are such figures for MC's in xianxia, and fairly early on; since this is a sect in the mortal world, those joining it are relatively low level.

The problem is that he got the body of a typical "young master"-class stepping stone, his position in Heaven's plan is thus opposite to its Sons. It's been a bit hard to go against Heaven's intent thus far in relation to SoH's, but who knows, there might be decent ones who don't want to dominate everything. Though probably not too many.

 

I'm surprised Zhao Shicheng didn't get angry Yan Zhaoge had designed a formation to specifically counter his barrier. Even if he trusted Yan Zhaoge, should something have happened to him....
