How to stop being picky?

    3 years ago i read any novel that was being translated but in recent years i started to get more picky. It is getting pretty bad i only read like 3 novels only on a regular basis. I want to be more open like how i was before. I keep reminding myself that rating doesn't matter but if i see a low-mid rating it still bothers me and i wont read it(3-4*).

    You do know realize that all you need to do is stop being judgemental about the series and you will naturally accept the story, right?

    Try learning chinese to devour as many novels you want. Beng picky is not a bad thing! Sometimes Reviews on NU work. Just read a few chapters to see if you like it! Or do research on it first

    Some of the novels I like are in the 2 star rating range, people will down vote something for just because they heard something or because of a tag.

    Someone looks at a novel, sees japanese and harem, go oh my god this shit 1 star.

    turn off your brain and you can do anything without feeling. That requires you to subcome to peer pressure and lose all independent thought though.

    yeah, but turning off your brain and reading anything no matter how trash it might be is....probably not the best advice ever

    @Simon anything with heroine rape and NTR automatically deserve lower star ratings :)

    No, reading bad things doesn't necessarily have negative impact on the readers. Depend on how someone perceives it, it might improve your insight about novels.

    And just because there is NTR, it doesn't necessarily bad.

    Being picky is GOOD! That means you have your own taste, trying to force yourself to read something is not the best solution. You're just fooling yourself that way.
    And about the rating, just don't care about it too much, it's not always accurate anw. Just read what you enjoy.

    Well, if you only take ratings as guide, that will happen. But if you read some chapter before judge them by yourself, maybe you can cured from your picky sickness.
