If it's CN go to Princerevolution!!! We want more chapters! But for that they have to have more translators! So go and join them!!
If you can translate, I'd be happy to receive you. I found many nice stories which are overlooked because everyone seem to think they deserve money these days. So they always pick stories that will make them money. I don't agree with that. It's a foolish venture that gives ammunition to aggregators to make money off translators, ending up making translators lose more than they gain. Therefore, if you want to make money off translations, we do not need you. If you just think a story is nice and wants to share with others, or you're learning Japanese and wants to see if your work makes sense, then you're our kind of guy. BTW, for now we only have Japanese because Ai chan can't read Chinese, so Ai chan can't edit your work. We also don't have a regular release date because we're all busy with real life and we don't make money from our translations. We have proper jobs and have no need to make money off others' work. EDIT: Nevermind, you said in one of your later posts that you only know Chinese.
You can post on y site, I recommend that you translate short novels like the Black Belly, maybe pick a 10 chapter long novel. http://xiaoxiaonovels.com/

Yup. As a fellow "scant-release" translator, rather than working with a group, working alone is the best. Don't mind the leecher too much. You can always delete their comment. It's not like they are paying you for chapters. Translate things that you like. Don't torture yourself by translating things that you hate. Welcome to the scene, I hope you will stay for long and not stopped translating after 3-5 chapters due to frustration.
Please join a group, or translate one shots or really short novels. Don't bite off more than you can chew just because the community will be mostly forgiving. I wrote a whole rant on this and don't want to delete it. Spoiler: Rant Even if you have good intentions, don't start a translation if you aren't going to be committed to it. That means a reasonable release rate considering both chapter length and quality. If you're a translator, even if you do it for a hobby, you still have a responsibility to not bite off more than you can chew. That is, don't pick a novel you know you won't finish, or a novel that has a length far exceeding what's reasonable for a slower translator. Ignoring those things means you've effectively cut off the work from others who could finish it, especially since the vast majority of translators follow an honor rule of not 'stealing' someone else's project. I'm aware that we wouldn't have a lot of good novels on NU if slower translators didn't pick up certain projects, but that still doesn't excuse the fact that most of those novels will eventually be dropped. Especially CN novels, where, at the current release rate, some projects will take more than a decade to finish. If you tell me that you're going to translate one thing for that long, I'm calling bullshit. Let me put it this way. Imagine that you started writing a web novel. It's good, but you're a slow writer, so your chapters are released slower than slow. A lot of readers leave, but a loyal few stick with you. They stick with you for years. They want to see the story's end that you've assured them will be fantastic. Then, one day, you say, "Welp, sorry guys, can't finish it." All those loyal readers who have stuck with you have been betrayed. They trusted you to finish the story, but you just quit halfway through. You knew you wouldn't finish the story, you knew it was too long, but you went ahead with it anyways, only to piss in the coffee of your loyal readers. But wait. You say that any other capable writer can pick it up. It's all fine now, right? No. No, it's not. There's no guarantee that your story will be picked up. Who would want to pick up a project with only a few, now betrayed and volatile readers. And what about those readers? They don't know if anyone will pick their favorite story up, they don't know if the next person will do a good job, and, most importantly, they don't know if the next person will even finish the story. They've spent years following this story for what feels like nothing. Time passes. You decide that you feel like writing again, but you're not gonna touch your last story despite the fact that nobody has picked it up. Instead, you start another story, one that's as grand as the last. One that you won't finish. Some readers understandably curse you out, but you ignore it under the excuse that they should appreciate your work. That they shouldn't be unhappy about what's there for free, and enjoy it while it lasts. Who sounds like the scumbag? I greatly appreciate what translators do, don't get me wrong, but shit like that shouldn't fly anywhere.
Totally understand, I was one of those loyal peeps, but had to read the entire thing in Chinese instead, took me longer, but it was fine. At first, I was like: why? YOU, NOOOOOO F5 F5 F5! THIS IS NOT REAL And then I was like: is there another translator willing to pick it UP? O.O Please please please And lastly I was like: ahhh boo boo, I have to read this in Chinese... I've been on this website for a few years, but only recently have bothered to join in the users, cause I wanted to do something. And well, your logic works for most of all the stories that are being translated so I don't really care
