As the title says, is prey worth buying and playing? Does it have that crucial replay ability? Or is it just a one off game that you play once and there isn't really any point in playing again?
hell yea there's like three endings (one of them is sort of a mid-game cop-out tho) and tons of different builds you may want to try out since the powers allow you to access the map in different ways. If you decide to adopt alien powers, you get super abilities but must deal with automated defenses that now see you as a threat, while if you maintain mostly human powers, you can try to use automated defense systems to eliminate threats. it's like deus ex or the original bioshock or system shock in terms of design, with a bit of dishonored mixed in. The only real complaint I have is that if you save over a previous save file, the data gets jumbled (there are 3 save slots).
Thx. Watched 'H20 Delirious' play it a while back on youtube and i've been debating getting the game ever since.
It is very objective argument of mine, the game is certainly good for today's standard if you enjoy a lore filled shooter with different ending. If you want something amazing that will rock your toes to the day of boat well look elsewhere.
I'd say it falls a bit short of its aspirations to be the next System Shock; there is too much needless unavoidable combat as time goes on and I ended up dropping it. Nevertheless, the early game is very enjoyable.
