My laptop is already dead. You are still better since it survived for 30mins. I neglected after charging it at 100% for too long that now it's only got a lifespan of 10mins(LOL).
But since usually I only use my laptop at home, so I never bother to buy a new battery.

Same as phone, no playing while charging. Simple. :p
Besides, my brothers always plugged in the charger and removed the battery whenever he played with the laptop. Don't know if it dangerous or nor, but the laptop was fine and the battery's health was good. Was as in now he sold it and bought PC for gaming.

If you want to increase lifespan of your battery, here is a few tips:
    - If you use laptop in desktop mode, take out the battery, many laptops work without it
    - Keep your battery charged from 50-80% instead of full charge
    - Heat is the enemy of lithium ion, get a laptop cooling pad. Most damage to lion batteries these days is from heat, not from use

    Extra tips:
    - If you buy from big brands like HP get in home warranty. Sometimes you can even get spare batteries , now I don't mean abuse it but you can get a lower charge battery to use on general occasions while keeping high charge one for travel
    - Do not store the battery in a hot place, nor a place below 0. Lithium ion ideal storage is 0 degrees. But lithium polymer is best stored at higher temperatures. Since you don't know which just stick to a cool place that doesn't get hot or too cold.

This is not a myth, you can easily double the lifespan of your battery this way. Storing a battery at 100% is not good for it. The reason you most likely did not notice a difference is because most damage these days comes from heat. If the battery is not heated up, even the short lifespan LCO chemistry should last 5-6 years with most of its charge.

incorrect keeping the battery above 70% will make a lipo last longer. you are thinking of NiCd which does have that issue.

Most of the "wearing out" from batteries is actually damage from heat. The heat can be either from running your laptop too hard (gaming, or mining virtual coinage, or editing videos, are some of the worst at this) combined with many laptops having relatively poor cooling solutions.

I agree with @know 's advice. I use a cooling fan pad and my last two laptops still had around 40-50% battery capacity after about 3 years, which I think is pretty good. My first laptop without a cooling pad had zero capacity after 3 years.

maybe the plug isn't enough to reach the socket inside the laptop

That's tech for ya~ gotta find real sauces.
Never seen this cause a problem before... hmm. :hmm:

Also wut "plug isn't enough to reach the socket inside the laptop"
I had to read that sentence many times and try to decipher what you were saying...
Plugs and socket, which are external... then suddenly 'inside the laptop' :blobfearful:

    My mind is blown

    Wifi also stopped working properly
It goes off sometimes when every other device works just fine
    Fed up with this laptop
I will factory reset and buy a new battery and see if it improves
if it doesn't I will stick to cheap tablets
replacing them wont hurt my wallet so much
