Hi I go by Coco and I went to college for Japanese language and culture! I passed N3 of the JLPT back in Dec 2016, however my true skills are in the N2/N1 range (I just had test anxiety and didn't want to try a harder level in fear that I'd fail it). I am thinking about taking the test again in either July or December, depending on if I'm in Japan or not. I have lived and worked in Japan as a mentor to young Japanese girls because I believe in women's education in Japan. My reading comprehension, written, and spoken Japanese, as I've been told by my native Japanese speaker friends, is near native level. My dream in life is to work as a translator in Japan, either for hospitality services (for instance, I want to work for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as a translator), video games, manga, etc. I hope to be permanently moved to Japan by the end of the year, in which I will work a bit before I try to go to Tokyo Uni or Waseda for undergraduate studies. If anyone is interested in having me join their team, please let me know! I don't have many samples of my translation work right now (I'm currently trying to build a portfolio for that) so I really consider my self a noob translator. But I practically live in both Japan & America at the same time do to my mentoring work, so perhaps translation transcends the physical and is more a way of life. 話を聞いてくださってありがとうございました！

Uh. Try contacting Yuushing of re-translations, he's currently in japan doing translation work for a coding firm there. Non gaming though, but i'm sure he knows a few jobs there you might be interested. Are you also going to translate on novels? D: if so poke me on PM i guess.

Lel, I'm working on a series called Akugyaku no Black Maria, and as a fan translator, I don't do it for teh moneyz, I do it for me and others to enjoy, although if I actually set up donations properly, if people really wanted to, they could donate a few dollars, otherwise if I were to demand money in such a way for chapters (Not sure if that includes donations for extra chapters) it'd basically be a commission more or less. Some bigger translation groups MIGHT actually pay you, but I wouldn't know.
So you saying reading all these goodies is a bad thing? Shame on you! How can you say that, reading novels helps you with RLS. Like how to not hesitate when killing bullies and how to wooe chicks, most importantly it teach us that it's mostly the lamest, weakest, stupidest that become MC and in the end wooe all the girls and become kings.
