Spoiler 1: The whole MC gimmick that's going on in the start eventually fades away, but he meets several situations where he feels like meeting a fated son of the heavens and he's the antagonist. 2: As of ch. 1061 - No harem and most likely wont be one. 3: While not Martial saint level 1 he achieves the 4th level in chapter 869 (Which is related to the upper realm) 4: Sort of like other cultivation novels, there's a whole lot of lower realms and once you achieve Martial Saint 4 you will be able to ascend to the upper realm. The upper realm have more powerful people + better qi/energy/etc making it more suitable for higher realms. 5: 'Yer getting way ahead of the novel as he only has a slight clue that it might have something to do with buddhism. 6: Yes, killed by Zhao Ge and company. 7: Still a mystery.

There is romance... In around chapter 500-something, Yan Zhaoge and Feng Yunsheng confess their mutual love very cutely and get engaged. Romance isn't the main part of the story though, since the genre is more action/adventure than anything else.
