Discussion New WSJ Flagship series?

    Since Naruto and Bleach finished, the 'three' renown flagship series has only One Piece left... maybe, just maybe, Boku no Hero could rise and become a new shonen peak series... but I for one am not betting my cookie on this.

    back then, those three were widely acknowledge even in the international scale, but why is haikyuu not included? its common practice in SWJ to have one highly acclaimed sport series, and previously it was kuroko no basuke before being replaced by haikyuu.. but eyeshield21 the best :p oh also Slam Dunk

    then what about gintama? This, on its own, is a special breed of its kind... and it generally falls under gag/action.. same with korosensei, mostly gag-ish.. KHR also was once a gag manga, before switching to mostly action..

    there is one possibility of being a flagship, known as HxH or HiatusXHiatus but is heavily depending on DQ releases (for those who got the joke) (although there were rumors of sailor moon (wifey)to take over)...

    and nisekoi, no comment on this one, not really my cup of tea and to me it will never surpass its predecessor TLR (which moved to sunday to become dark(er)ness and just finished?)

    OP-man, not really SWJ, more like J-digitalized comic? not really sure about this one..

    special mention goes to death note/bakuman, which are btw by the same tag-team combo...

    what else? i may have missed some... that made it past through to international waters... well whatever...

    so any comments? or maybe more in depth/insider info? all of the above were just on the surface info gathered here and there.. pardon any inaccuracy and please do correct me if there is any..

    P/S: had just read Dr. STone by EyeShield21 author and Boichi (SunKenRock) and been wondering, will it rise to prominence or ulimately be dragged to the graves... pity about psyren though, a series popular outside, but was so-so in Japan

    boku no hero doesn't have what it takes in my opinion.
    MC is too wimpy, and there's not enough relatable moments to make for a top manga/anime.
    naruto, one piece and bleach had their emotional moments which sucked you in, (naruto with his life at the start, and One piece with Nami's history, bleach i honestly don't remember)

    Eyeshield the best? You must be on crack (speaking (me) from anime only perspective) or something... I do agree that haikyuu is very good as well as slam dunk but the other 2...

    Nisekoi ended months ago and it was actually really good!!

    HxH if toriyama got of his butt and started drawing HxH would overtake One Piece in popularity...

    Hero might have potential and it might not have as well the problem with it is whether it would last over 200 chapters or not. There was also that black clover who knows whether it is still ongoing, haven't been keeping up with manga lately...

    Bleach had the best arc for soul society - rescuing rukia and kenpachi fight...

    BnHA is the best manga running on WSJ rn

    really likable, well-developed characters (for the most part) and a protag who's actually smart

    good action as well, and the author knows just how to twist shounen tropes to make them interesting. Not much bad I can say about the series, except that the characters can feel a little unrelatable at times.

    yeah, admittedly haikyuu manga may be quite weird for some, but the anime for me is superb... have you watched it?

    yeah, but is it flagship material?
