    Hey guys/gals/gender-neutral-address,

Path of Translation is recruiting editors to join our amazing team. We have a healthy mix of novels spread across the spectrum of genres available in KR and CN. However, quite a lot of our novels are suffering due to lack of dedicated editors.

The novels that need urgent attention are: My Daoist Life, Post-'80s Cultivation Journal, Deva Wizard, ID the greatest fusion fantasy, Martial God Conqueror and Cohen of the Rebellion....Whew. If you are interested in any of these novels or are otherwise interested in raising the quality level of these novels up a notch for the enjoyment of one and all, tarry no further and submit your application in the format given below.

What do you need to do?
Simple! Just email [email protected]/leave a comment down below/PM me or @Tyrant and use ‘Editor Application’ as the subject and include the following information:
    • Novel(s) you’re interested in editing
    • Time zone you live in
    • Approximate schedule(you can change this)

Feel free to ask any questions. We will try to get back to you as soon as possible.

Well, I really want to experience editing. Unfortunately, I don't have enought time to spare. Though, I think after a year I'll be in your care. :) Goodluck!

You guys have a fantastic site and plethora of great novels. A suggestion to tap into a wider network of editors, assistants, etc. would be to coordinate with WW and have one of your novels posted on that site. That site has dedicated readers and f5 addicts. Kind of similar approach to how etvo is doing and turned the one novel on WW into getting hits/help for her site which now imo is top 5 best sites.

Do we get like a trial period, where we could just try to see if editing is our life's calling ?

What's required of the editors? Checking Grammar and sentence formation? Do we need to know Chinese?

Also mail can't be sent to the mail id given above.

Checking grammar and sentence formation is only the primary job of editors. You would also be responsible for identifying and correcting flow of the novel. Sometimes the translators get wayward and use too many run-on sentences and lose track of the direction the paragraphs is going while seemingly in a trance-like state, only to then lift their heads up and wondering how they got here when they did. Not that I do something like that.....

But seriously, editors have to go beyond basic spelling, grammar checking, and flow-checking in order to also ensure at least a reasonable modicum of consistency both in terms of language and terms in the translations.

Knowing Chinese is not a requirement, but is something that is a "nice-to-have-but-not-really-required" kind of a thing.

Of course what all I listed above is what I feel an ideal editor should possess, if you feel interested in any particular novel, feel free to point that out in PM or an email at [email protected].

P.S. @yorozuyaginchan Thanks for pointing out the mistake on the email ID, I fixed that.
