(c.171) I just want to point out somethings that bothered me. Right now, the rumor that Han Yunxi bewitched Long Feiye is being spread in Tianning country. Why not counter that rumor by spreading that there's something seriously wrong with Princess Rongle (Duanmo Yao) that's why Long Feiye doesn't want to marry her. Spoiler ie. promiscuity, possibility of espionage, questionable character--someone please point out that during the recent banquet she gambled with Han Yunxi demanding Yunxi divorce the Duke of Qin if she won. Doesn't that incident exemplify her jealousy and lack of virtuousness. Before she's even married, as a *foreign* princess she's trying to get rid of the native wife. With all the accomplishments Yunxi has done recently, there should at least be some nationalistic people who sympathize with her... Furthermore, doesn't this incident imply that the Tianning court especially the emperor is filled with cowards who want to force a mismatched marriage because they fear the neighboring countries. That ought to pressure the emperor into letting Long Feiye go. Considering how 'popular' he is supposedly... his female admirers would pity their imprisoned Duke of Qin and realize what a bitch Princess Rongle is for forcing herself on a man who doesn't want her. While his allies in court would realize that imprisoning one of their greatest military asset is weakening their own country while espionage and war is on the horizon all because of a heart-broken foreign princess? Is the emperor's authority so absolute that his Imperial court has to play along with a neighboring country's machinations? Long Feiye's influence is that weak...? Looking forward to how this gets resolved. Hopefully, that resolution doesn't involve an unreasonable deal with that thick-faced Princess Rongle. (I wish she'd just stop forcing herself on someone who obviously doesn't see her as a love interest. But hey, sometimes romance novels need people like her XD) Edit (post c172): Nevermind!
