That riddle is broken. You are not describing one (1) item, rather four (4) completely different things: one action, two unique and different items, and I'm not sure how to classify "bow wow".

Despite the spelling being the same, bow (genuflect to a king) is pronounced differently from bow (a weapon that shoots arrows). As a result, your rather twisted logic for the riddle only works in English and only because of the spelling. A real riddle should be able to be translated into any language and still be understandable as a riddle. The reason is that all the phrases in a real riddle describe a single item not multiple different items.

@The Great Me many riddles are based off a play on words, and many riddles only really work in their original language

Can you give me even one actual example of a real riddle like that?

I've never seen a riddle that has completely different answers for each of it's clauses but treats them all as the same answer. There are riddles with two or more answers, like the sun and the moon, but it clearly spelled out that two objects are being described.

what herb cures all ailments...thyme. riddles based of the word dozen. what word begins and ends with e but only has one letter...envelope. what word becomes shorter with two letters added short.can't remember the riddle my friend said but it made use of the Chinese word for four and death did not work in english the riddle relied on the chinese use of tonal inflection, as did this riddle, and it was his riddle that gave me my idea...it may have four different answers but it only has one true answers bow.it's a creative logic puzzled designed to make you think in the abstract...which it does

Each of those only has one answer, not 3 since the arrow shooter and the pretty knot could actually be used as a valid riddle. That's completely different from what you did. Those are word plays with a single answer. What you did was not a word play. create a riddle that implied a single answer but had three answers: two different words and an onomotopia. Despite the spelling being the same, to genuflect and a weapon used to shoot arrows are words with completely different pronunciations and spelling meanings.
