Unfortunately, you just know that's not going to happen until their dishonesty completely screws both of them over and causes at least 500 chapters of meaningless heartache. I really really really hate it when the plot-driving conflict is uselessly and pointlessly created by the foolish decisions of the main characters themselves, especially then such conflict can be completely swept away and resolved with a mere 30 second confession. It's comparable to having to suffer through a 1000 chapter long tournament arc that has zero influence on the story, or even a 'it was all a dream' ending. <retch>
