i don't know... Honestly i just hope the movie is good, it could possibly lead to more good movies if it is (3-times that number bad movies but still)

so be honest, would you prefer an ugly and unknown actor over her? why not judge that after it's out.

can only partly agree, it always was like that but I simply hope it works like with the Marvel avengers stuff. the source is good so let's just hope.

I would. I don't care if the mc is ugly or beautiful, what's of importance is the quality of the act. Even more if we talk about an adaptation.

 

This made me take a look at youtube, only to found about people asking the audience about not being racist because motoko is white instead of yellow.. sigh..
I just really doubt that they could make a descent storyline thats randomly amusing with it.. it'll be meh at best.
The popularity of scarlet somewhat boost people expectation though.. still think its gonna be meh..

Edge of tomorrow was really good, but they changed the original plot so much

 

fumu after the f*ck up they did with dragon ball, Avatar the last airbender, speed racer, eragon, mortal instraments series, percy jackson series, etc... i have given up all hope that america will ever do a good adaptation. japan seems to do very well with adaptations but they really f*cked up with the attack on titian live action. damn that movie sucked

 

No Anime into Movie adaptation has ever been good for me at least.

The manga ones sure some of them are...
They are Japanese made though except for Edge of Tomorrow (I did not even like it that much 6/10 and its very different from the source material).
I repeat All you need is Kill is not an Anime.

Hollywood adaptations of things I like (except Marvel) suck.
Its gonna suck.
That Warcraft movie is probably gonna suck too.

 

I liked Speedracer, though I never saw the original and as for Percy Jackson I guess it is debateble some like it some hate it.

 

The only animes there are dragonball and speedracer

 

i okay with adaptation if they keep least 60% of the plot[faithful to the original plot rather than make it completely new story with the same title because it impossible to follow the real plot 100% and crammed it into 2 hour video ] and give a nice end for the movie

 

Isn't there an assasins creed movie coming out soon? Game movie adaptations don't do too well either (prince of persia). At least the actors are nice to look at.

Man,whats with people kept saying there's no anime live action adaptation being succesful/good.Did they never watch Samurai X-Rurouni Kenshin or Initial D ? Poor souls

Though I agree with you that the movie adaptation wasn't nearly as good as the manga I feel that if you look at the movie as a separate entity it wasn't that bad.
Plus if they had stuck to the story fully it would've been an R18 movie with heavy violence and wouldn't have been nearly as accessible to the public.

 

Scarlett Johansson was cast for GITS? She has to wear that outfit?
