I read Spiderman and watched it on tv when I was kid. I Just read a Fanfic of a author that I like with Spiderman on it. Maybe because of the point of view or because it is in text., but probably because the author spelled it for me I noticed something new in Spiderman. All that provocation and insult of villain has a aim to draw fire to Spiderman and away from civilians. Did you notice it while you read as a child? Ps: if you are interested here is the link for the fanfic: http://thesylthorian.com/2017/07/28/fan-fiction-1-ma-m/
Never read the comics or watched the TV show. I've only seen the movies. The provocations in the movies feel... weak or nonexistent. Maybe I'm misremembering since I haven't watched them in years. They don't seem to serve a big role and I sure as hell don't remember them. All I remember is Spiderman being extremely reluctant to fight the villains and the banter being more of a way to bring them back to reason or figure out who the hell they were.
Well yea, do you think spiderman would say something like "i heard those civilians say you're a fat ass" to Rhino?
Yeah the smart aleck-ness of spidey aint that great in any of the movies, except maybe the ones with the newest guy playing him. And his lines are just wrote by others, right? Few can capture the essence and level of annoyingness spiderman can truly dish out.
I can imagine that actually. hilarious. Yup. No one can replace pete. The guy even literally talked to God once, remember? Miles Morales aint shit, heh. Agreed. The animated series, Ultimate Spiderman i think, did it pretty well though. Fair enough at least. Hearing all his wise cracks were half the fun, having that watered down hurt me deep bro. But, eh, there's always the comics.
Solracmar and DragomirCM [Fanfic author] This is suspicious... Maybe an advertisement? :3 (I am just joking, okay?)
Yes, his quips mostly for distracting his enemies, and for himself, if I remember correctly, the jokes usually to mask the fact he is scared. Edit: also, because, he have much less spider-ability than others (Miles, Cindy, Kaine), he make it up with his...brain.
Oh, Drago wrote that story? Did you know Drago is an honorary mod on RRL for helping the owner out with a few things. CONSPIRACY THEORY: This entire thread was orchestrated by DragomirCM while paying me off to help. I wish.
Nope. But I will take that as compliment since I like his work. Well in a way it is a advertisement even if it isnt my intention.
Yes that is why spiderman was my favorite and why I stoped reading the new version. Spider sense and be stronger was enough. The tread being a creation of his was great part of what make him a genius. I don't like how they dump down the character.
Glad to see other people enjoy his stuff too! I just finished reading the new MA chaps but havent read the fan-fic yet lol
I kind of wish marvel would stop with all this SJW BS and political BS and go back to there roots. Almost none of the new heroes they s#/t out recently are any good and are copy and paste copies of old heroes. Look at Riri Williams that thing is a train wreck.
As someone who watched the new movie, Tom holland nailed the nerdyness of Peter and the total max annoyingness of Spiderman with the quips, except in one scene, though you'd forgive that one cause breathing would be a hard task in that situation. I like how insecure he is cause he's still 15, doubting his own powers. Also, to entirely clarify since I've seen this going around a lot. Spider sense hasn't been given the slo-mo, fish eye emphasis it gets usually but its still there and spidey demonstrated it. That being said it really doesn't work that well emphasizing how young and undeveloped his powers are
