I can't really call it a rebellion. Because it was put down so fast. So, the emperor's disease was caused by Sheng junwang becuase he has a hunch that Xian junwang will be chosen as the new emperor. When the rebelling soldiers went into disarray because of the flames, those soldiers are really arrogant because there was a law that limits the number of private army and weapons official/nobles can have,HXW with the guards and her handmaidens go out to battle when suddenly back-up arrived in the form of armies from Yi'an fu and another royal family. So the Xian fu was saved then it suddenly showed a scene of a subdued Yan Bo Yi showing contempt to YJQ.

@alexfilia no, they did not try to spar with one another. And though there was no obvious report, it was implied that ML knew what really happened.

@tstobe sorry, i am not sure what the real name as they have a different name in mtl @kiara8 it will be in the next chapters, when MC went back for a visit to her paternal home. The maid was left in the Xiang fu, because MC wantd to test her as she had tried before to entice ML, and the maid did try.

HXW is the youngest of the daughters of Hua family, so i think as the novel progresses you may feel an undercurrent thought of HYL that somehow it should be her that is the Xian Wang fei, kind of like in Virtuous woman(Wife?) where Mc's step sis has delusions that MC somehow robbed her of her supposed fate.

HCY is fortunate, as she was sensible and smart enough that HXW considers her good enough to be a civil servant she knows fate and is accepting. Her husband and his family are also decent.

 

Why was HYL's married life so misareble? ...did her hubby mistreat her? (like hit her and stuff) or the cocumbine gave her problems?.....what happened after her divorce? ....you mentioned something about being a cocumbine to the ml ...how did she try it?

 

Spoiler: HYL's married life

so as i wrote earlier and as it was stated already in the tl'd chapters, the son already has a favorite concubine, i am not sure if she already gave birth or was she forced to abort, anyway, somehow a letter from her was read by HXW and it told of HYL's miscarriage due to the concubine. However, the concubine wasn't punished but instead it was HYL who somehow got the bad and. She was confined to a courtyard, not sure if it was her original courtyard or if she was transferred, in a desolate area and she was not treated well even by the servants to the point that she was starved until she looks like skin and bones. I think her in-laws look the other way about the husband's treatment of her. However, once HXW discovered this, she managed to tell of HYL's fate to HYL's brother who was very close to her. It enraged the brother that he abandoned studying to confront the family in the front gate loudly. Like i wrote, the Hua family gave it's support to this by having HXW's oldest brother, heir to the Hua family, and both HXW and YJQ is present. Because of YJQ's status, the family has no choice but to entertain the complaints. The in -laws were terrified to offend him so they tried to trick them by hastily ordering the servants to serve HYL into a good appearance but it cannot be hidden due to HYL's malnourished body. The Hua family were so surprised especially her brother was angered to what was done to his sister. The in-laws called for the son and concubine and had them kneel to ask for forgiveness and let the guests know that the two will be punished however the Hua family is still adamant in total separation. The in-laws had no choice but to comply. When the public saw HYL's appearnce they were so horrified that they feel that it was justified asking for divorce.

Not really, she only tried, like always appearing in YJQ's vicinity and acting all shy but as she was already a divorcee, such thoughts cannot happen as he is of prince rank. And YJQ is too smart to be deceived and feels disgusted of her conduct. But although she was only saved successfully due to HXW, she always feels jealous of her and is so gloomy.

 

I already read the raws using google translate, and it seems that HYL tried to kill HXW by sending assassins but failed. YJQ visited HYL and forced her to suicide, but HXW arrives and YJQ decides to leave her alone (because HXW still consider her as sister)

 

Not really her, HYL was just used as an excuse for others to assassinate HXW. But HYL, somehow she managed to remember HXW's kindness and is a family member, didn't tell the mastermind about HXW knowing martial arts. Because of this the attempt failed and HXW managed to arrive in time to persuade YJQ to stop forcing HYL to suicide because of that instance. I think the mastermind was YBY, knowing that HXW's death will deal a huge blow to YJQ, afterall YBY already thinks that HXW is a schemer

 

Who's YBY? Is it the guy who was in charge of investigating the dead of HYL's uncle?

 

Yan Bo Yi, the other popular prince. The one who's wang fei had miscarriage so she will have difficulty in getting pregnant again so he will accept concubine. And yep, the one who was investigating the murder.

I also read MTL just to add my interpretation on this one, HYL actually tempted to kill or at least harming HXW, she colluded on the assassination, but later on she (HYL) realize deep down, she doesn't really want HXW die, since she conveniently did not mention HXW martial art ability, if HYL really want HXW die, she sure will mention about HXW martial art ability. But until the last moment HYL indeed at least participate passively in the assassination

 

What about reincarnation/transmigration element in this novel? Will it ever come out in the story?
