    The Water Margin

    If you ever want a crash course into Chinese way of thinking and literature, these two will be the definitive introduction.

    RoTK is what Game of Thrones is for contemporary readers, while the Water Margin has swashbuckling adventures of Robin Hood and his Merry Men.

    Legend of the Sun Knight. Dunno the specific genre. It's hilarious, well-written and doesn't differ much from western novels. A worthwhile read for many people. It won't really serve as an introduction to the genres of CN novels more common around here, though - xianxia, and xuanhuan. Still, it would be a shame to leave it off a must-read list.

    No way man man. Have you ever had that thirsty feeling when you press the next chapter link only to find that you already caught up?
    When you ready a completed story that thirst goes away for a while after your done, but when you caught up with a none completed translation, you have a higher chance of looking for a new book in order to quench that thirst.

    I sencond Mushoku Tensei. This is what make me begin reading everything on NU. LoL But if you're not an otaku, you probably not get a joke in that novel.
    For a game noob, I recommend The King’s Avatar. The plot character and everything is so awesome!
    For normal guy, I recommend I shall seal the heaven. The plot is so awesome! And the MC is not some irritable bastard too.

    Mushoku tensei since it is completed and is a great fantasy

    Shield bro since it gets into the revenge and unique protagonist which allows for easy transition into xianxias where everyone's out to get the mc

    that's true also can depend on what type of cliff you ended up hanging from, though that might only be the case if the novels are 100+ chapters long, what about chapters which are 40-50 translated and new chapter only comes around once a month?

    kumo desuga nani ka, for its diverseness, comedy, well written plot and extensive connections. it is just a great variation on reincarnated into another world (with a class).

    I think most of the top ranked series here in Novel updates except those with harem genre(my opinion) are good :D

    yeah right MGA is pretty much the average for a xianxia(Mt. Tai at one intersection, arrogant young masters at the other and stuff)...
