Rookie mistake, the withdrawal will affect you far more than the drug... One does not simply leave without wondering what their favourite MC is doing
whatever is fine for me, at least just give me more novel chapter to read!!!! better if they give me binge release!!
You underestimate addiction. People say they'll go somewhere else, but soon there might not be somewhere else. They'll have to go here for their fix. Also a half a peny or a penny? That's a joke. Maybe a dollar is a stretch, but a quarter is reasonable. I once got into a show called 24, on a On Demand tv service since it was impossible to find good picture and voice quality on the web. Each episode was 99 cents. That was not a lot, so I keep on ordering episodes under the belief its just 99 cents a episode. Big deal right, is what I thought. That's how it works and it absolutely works. To watch all seven or eight seasons I ended up with a bill for 150 or so dollars I think. They even made the first two seasons free to get you hooked and wanting more. Don't underestimate a affordable price and a fans addiction.
I agree with you completely. Which is why I said that price point. Very few people could afford $100 per week in discretionary spending on a regular basis. Which is what it'd be if we're talking $0.25 per chapter for probably most of their readers in this community. I doubt most in this community would spend more than $20 per week, and that has to be spread around in donations to many different translators. Their pricing structure will have to be thought of carefully, since over half of the more popular novels we've been following come from their site or they will lose that "addict" mentality when people have time to cool off and focus on other series out of their hold.
the big question not being asked is if NU will post a link to the released chapters from the new Qidian sight?
As long as it's free, then there isn't much to complain right now. Wait until they become their Qidian site with pay to read then complain all you want.
you know i dont really care about the slower translation groups being affected...but what about the really fast translators, like flowerbridgetoo, Ren and the others at reliable places like WW? I think WW got the go-ahead from authors to translate their stuff, but the other fast TLers that aren't apart of them and dont exactly have that permission...what of them?
I doubt they will make enough money with the purely free option and the problem with sponsored chapters is all the money flows into a few novels like ISSTH and DE, DE is up to 15k on patreon. I'd support a sub service if they had faster releases, 3-5 chapters a week isn't really enough for novels with 2k+ chapters, it's understandable when it's fully amateur and fan translations.
Are they going to start charging for chapters? Best for me to read what they have before it's behind a paywall
