Summary:“The King of Gore” Herman Yau returns with a gruesome tale that follows the cursed life of a young translator who collaborated with the enemy during Japan’s wartime occupation. He is tormented by guilt after turning his back on the comfort women who were mercilessly murdered. Forty-five years later, his sin comes back to haunt his son, a professor specializing in sleeping disorders who begins a terrible experiment to exorcise his father’s ghost.

The first thought that entered my mind is "why is this so similar to the matters about qidian?"
Translators switching sides to join qidian, only to get retribution. would this make a good novel?

" He is tormented by guilt"
    QI's translators:
Guilt? What is that? Is it edible?
Yeah, not really Qidian, but more like GGP.

A translator can like a novel and may not want to give it up.

You forget that at one point translators translated not expecting any monetary award, posting on forums and blogs simply for the enjoyment of others.

Back then they may have not gotten any money and little if any but they still had the choice of what novel to translate. Which is obviously not the same anymore.

More than that a translator has to say least somewhat enjoy the work to keep translating thousands of chapters

When I saw the heading, without seeing qi, I thought of another summary that reminded me of something else.
"A young farm boy travels across an evil empire, accompanied by an old hermit, learning the ways of an ancient order. After the death of the hermit, the young farm boy is all that is left to stop the evil plans of the empire."
This is the paraphrased summary of the movie:
    Eragon

Does this remind any one else of Star Wars?
