Translator looking for a home

Hello, everybody, I'm a University student majoring in Foreign Cultures and Languages, basically a damn good translator. Seeing the recent events I decided to invest into becoming a Chinese translator, however, I have no idea how it works, I can find the raws on my own, but I have no idea how a site and whatnot works, soooo, anybody wants to hire a Chinese translator?

I'll be good, i swear... :,(

You can join a group and have them help you with this.
Aim at one and ask them directly.

 

Maybe translate a bunch of chapters and then send them to gravity tales or some other similar site and ask to be hosted. Please pick up Legend of the Cultivation God. Then you could refer to already translated stuff as well as your own genius.

I suggest joining with Qidian. I'm sure they could use more translators.

 

What kind cn novels do you like ?

 

You can look at this reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/noveltranslations/comments/5xff21/monthly_recruitment_thread_march_2017/ and see if anything strikes your fancy. Or you can apply to Qidian at [email protected].

The pay is probably higher on Qidian starting out, but other big sites will probably make more in the end as long as you can get ad revenue sharing.

 

My suggestion would be Wuxia World or Qidian if you're looking to make money outta this "career" if you're just looking to translate what you want without wanting to get paid for it then Volare is your best choice overall

You can open up your own wordpress site ... Translate for a few chapters ... As you gain readers... Other sites will notice you... Then join them.... Or
You can join Qidian international as a translator... They have contract and they have copyright
Or
You can go to Wuxiaworld forums to translate and link it to novel updates
Wait for rwx to notice you and you might join Wuxiaworld... Depends on your release rate and quality

Note: if you want to earn money... You have to get a popular novel yet not taken and start from the chapter 1... Show your sincerety in translation... Keep your release rate consistent...

At least release 7 chapters a week..
Coz ot is a fact that novels with high release rate get more readers even though their story may not be as good as compared with a novel with slower release rate...
