How long do you think it will be until a realistic fully immersive vr game like SAO but without the killing and magic cream orbs to spread on bread or the game in Praise the Orc will be made? Would you play it if it is?
i for one would like a vr game where im lying down vividly hallucinating shit with the aid of devices that make me feel like a fking isekai MC desu~
I wanna play it but I doubt I can buy those VR equipments.....Even the current VR model I can't cause my financial is bad D: I do hope that there's no weird bug
For those of you voting 'yes', just remember that no matter how realistic VR gets, it will never replace real human companionship, and you will still have no friends.
From my POV, maybe the full dive VR game system would be connected with our brain, and neuron system somehow. If it's true, I would rather not, because a little error would make the death probability quite high I guess
guuhhh only reason i want a vr is so i can make my own game and set up the same scenario as a light novel...like jinku mahou where the mc gets to travel between his isenkai world and his world just i will be using a helmet instead of spells to travel
When technology reaches the level where the world inside a game becomes just as real as Real Life, we have to ask the question, "Are WE even real, or just NPCs in a simulation like the one we have been enjoying?" Just as potentially ruining to the mind, we have to ask, "Do the NPCs in our new simulated reality think and fell and have souls? And, if they do, what does that make us? Do we have a moral obligation to be a better god to them then whatever god (or lack thereof) made us?" True Virtual Reality is a can-of-worms that, when opened, will force us to question everything we know about reality itself. But then again, I DO like to be overly philosophical....
Some professor at my college recently made neural interface for giving simple commands to I don't know something. That's the starting step, so 20 years I think.
Maybe i play one or two times after that i go watched someone streaming their vr game experience in y*utube #lazylifematter
A poll a day keeps the trolls away. *hinting at you making too many polls/threads* Ps nothin wrong with it at all.
Depends how you define 'fully immersive'. Covering all the senses? Distant future. Other, easier to do experiences will be rolling out in the near future though. Vision, audio, movement, etc are already attainable but to be able to deliver that to a normal consumer is still going to take time.
Elon musk is working on something similar to it so hopefully we'll get get something in a dozen years or so. And I wonder if full dive games in future will feel more real than reality.
Well, time to start working on reincarnation or rebirth. Do you think cryogenics work? Will eating mercury extend my life?
