What is the policy for chapter releases in this specific circumstance?

Because the title would otherwise be way too long.

What is the policy on NU for releases where the first half of a chapter is translated then posted, only to have the rest of the chapter updated and posted in full on a completely new post (in this case, different website altogether)?

Because from the specific circumstance I'm seeing in Houketsu Kyoukai no Eden, the releases are merged, linking to the newer release, while maintaining the release date of the older chapter.

I honestly think this to be incorrect, as it doesn't document when the full chapter was released, but only when the translator translated a portion of the chapter.

Though I'm pretty sure the case is different with Youjo Senki, because for chapter 3, it lists the release date of the full and complete chapter.

In the case where it's originally only partially translated, we see this a lot in WW where we get teasers for the next chapter.

Not sure if there's a policy on it, but the teasers are never linked on NU.

NU works like this -
There is a post in RSS feed, NU bot catches it posts it.
Someone like you sees there is a problem, and posts a new link as either a pm or in a thread linking mod
Mod changes the link to the new one
Date remains same as database cannot change the date from back ...

As seen from here, the translation of part 1 to 4 was done on the listed date.
The link, however, links to the translator's new site where he finished the translation of the chapter (to part 9). This was done very recently.

As for Youjo Senki... I don't have any links, but I do remember that the teaser for Chapter 3 was listed as v1c3 a while back, and then when chapter 3 actually came out, there were two v1c3's.

Let me give an example then. Two, actually.

Let's say chapter 78 has 10 parts.

1.
01/15/07 - chapter 78 part1 released - added to NU
02/15/07 - chapter 78 part2 released - added to NU
03/15/07 - chapter 78 part3 released - added to NU
05/15/07 - chapter 78 re-released integrating all 3 part, plus remaining 7 part, - not yet added to NU

if single page and from the same group (site location ignored) :
we will replace the link of the oldest part of chapter, rename the chapter, and use the original date, unchanged. all other parts will be removed

if from same group, but remaining parts has its own link (either all on single page, using bookmark/target, or each its own page):
depends on the mod. more often, the previous solution will be used. but if the mod feels like it, she/he can also continue the pattern of adding each part manually. or if by request.

if from different group :
it will be brought to discussion and will depend on mods's consensus

01/15/07 - chapter 78 full was released - added to NU
05/15/07 - revised translation of chapter 78 released - not yet added to NU

if same group
links will be replaced, but date will be unchanged.

if by different group, but based on old group translation
it will be brought to discussion and will depend on mods's consensus

if same group, but full ground up re-translation
links will be replaced, but date will be unchanged.

if by different group, but BASED ON (revised, not re-translate) old group translation

however, none of these are final. it might change based on situation.

as for skythewood's, they often practice linking announcement page to existing chapter (with added parts). So once all parts have been released, all the announcement links more or less became moot, and by extension so does links on NU, because they all lead to the same page. Therefore the first solution are usually used.
