Was it a better time back when we were able to enjoy webnovels in all its glory, or is it better now that we know our tastes were shit?

of course 1 was better, but you can still have 1 if you find good new stuff that you have never tasted before

I actually think it was better back then, when we had everything at our disposal, all the novels out there being translated we could read without a second thought. Now we have novel politics, legal issues, crazy drama, and have to worry about the future of the novel translation scene tomorrow.

There plenty of good novels still. You just need to dig deeper away from the generic and cliche stuff to find gems.

Picked the second option simply because when you do find something good hidden among all the trash the experience is so much better.

you can always leave a note saying "try reading translated novel online" then go outside and find a rushing car and then get hit with a hopeful attitude that you will have selective amnesia regarding all the novels that you've enjoy so far,.

1 is better yes, back as a young daoist just traversing the path to the truth, now I know better, I look for better. It will never be the same cause I'm always looking for something with a bit of sophistication

It's true, when you know too much, everything becomes boring.
For me, I don't read much Chinese and Korean novels mainly because I was poisoned with their TV Series too much before I started reading and got sick of them.

Let's find a Truck-sama and hope that we can reincarnate to a different world.

Ignorance is bliss, but it's a double edged sword.

Same situation for me but with anime. If it weren't because there's a scarcity of Korean Novels, i would have read the least number of JP novels

I always wondered if it would be interesting being reincarnated into a different world, but then I sit and think that if I get sent somewhere where it is pure comprehension ( no special resources to power up) I wouldn't get too far cause I'm not too bright

Returning from the complex to the simple again, fellow Daoist well done. Only in a draught can one truly experience the essence of the water.

Only reasonable cheat we would have would be imagination and attitude, really. As someone from the modern world, we are more open minded in both idealogies and social interactions.

I don't see the difference. I still enjoy generic novels. Have been back then, and till now.

I'm fine with transcendence. Though occasionally I still enjoy some of the trashy novels out there. It's fast food, occasionally you want to binge read it. ┐(´д`)┌
