Discussion Why do you hate mecha?

Pretty sure that's the point in heavy object mecha design and it brings into light that regular people can take out these mechas without other giant mechas.

I love mechas but I hate mechas like aquarian, captain earth, agrevollen(dear Lord this one was super cringy.)

 

Who would hate mechas? They are like one of 10 most awesome stuff in the world.

I love Gundams, who cares about practicality? Why it needs legs you said? Because they once made one without one and it looks fugly AF (I am looking at you Zeong).

I tell you what? Mecha is practical, it's practically awesome. That's why, here obligatory Awesome Mecha fight videos.

They don't need to be practical, they're ugly if they're practical, so go full all out with proper amazing mechas!!!!

Because it's not uncommon to have the mechas thought of as useful for both space combat and within-planet combat, which means they need to be able to move around properly with gravity getting in the way.

Also because a human will be the one controlling it, and there is a limit on how many things a human can control at once with only 2 hands to imput commands.

 

Well, while I don't hate mecha, I can't say I like it...

I mean, I rather watch an action show over a romance one, but I'm there for the sweaty, bloodied men, not some over sized tin cans pouncing at each other.

Of course, Gurren Lagann is a special case.

 

What it's more exciting? Two giant robot humanoid punching each other or two big balls of iron crashing each other?
