Why is there a video ad on NU

    I saw a video ad on my mobile on the updates page for the movie 'Why him?' And was wondering if this was going to be a regular thing because I check updates quite often and would hate to chew through my data for the month

    I'm using Adblock right now but even before I've never noticed video ads while on mobile.

    ad block~ best thing since sliced bread.
    If they didnt make annoying video ads or pop up ads or ads with viruses attached, there would be little use for ad blockers

    to be fair, ad block is a nuke.... a bit over the top. Also feels abusable atm considering adblockplus defaults you to blocking most ads aside from "safe" ones on their list that pay them money. And now there are more and more sites blocking people from content unless they turn adblock off, it's quickly turning into a war. I still use ad block and just manually unblock for things like this, but it honestly feels pretty dicey : like the system will drastically change at any point.

    There's video ads? Are you sure it's not gif ads? I've never seen video ads before on NU...

    @Tony can you remove the video adds? OP makes a fair point there, since I usually use NU on PC, I don't really mind it, but it would be quite troublesome for me if it was on mobile.
