Discussion Yen press strikes again

Damn yen press keeps picking up novels even doh there translation speed is stupidly slow....
And there translation quality sucks .....

 

Got me thinking, what if translator just use discord to post the chapters there in a created channel.

 

Not even funny.
Anime is ok, but book itself is helluva tedious for most people. I bet, Yenpress will translate is slow AF, won't get any proper sales from it and will end up keeping the copyright but not actually producing anything.

Btw, is there any fantranslation of Campione going on?

Yep the only solace here is that it won't take them long to reach the volumes that haven't been translated yet, and Youjo Senki seemed to be a major pain in the ass to translate (complex vocabulary and grammar, etc...) it also was hard to get the chinese raw version to keep up with the japanese publication (at least the translators complained quite a few time about those two points on the chat box and comment section...).

After all, it shows that the guys at Skythewood got good taste in novels .
I'll wait eagerly for the next one they decide to translate to remplace Youjo...

I can't stand yen press, they buy the licenses then they take forever to release the books, why can't they co - operate with the translators and release them faster.

 

I just hope the second season (if there will be) sticks to the novel they always change a thing here and there anyway the manga is still the best

i wish yen press would learn to release faster and in a better quality , but their company policy seems to be the reverse of this idea

 

If only people could contact authors of works they are currently translating and being like "Yo, YenPress will be contacting you cause this work is doing good on the English side of the world, but heres a secret, English speaking/reading folks hate YenPress and dont buy their stuff." and maybe yenpress wouldnt get licenses for things we like. *picks nose and wanders off*

More like they dont even care , btw did you write it in jap or eng? And i think most of them doesnt care or tend to ignore people who isnt a jap especially if they have opinion whether its good or bad

 

The problem with Youjo is that the language used is incredibly complex in comparison with most of Yen Press' other 'popular' licenses.

I honestly don't see this as being a very profitable license at all. It'll be very expensive to translate in comparison with something like Konosuba and I don't really think that the majority of the LN buying scene would actually buy it.

 

I read in the LCD thread that they put they're hands in the Kumoko-cha's LN too... Truly sorrowful
