Discussion Youjo Senki anime talk

So I decided to read the manga to see what this anime will be all about...AND I FUCKING WINJOYED IT . Worthy of being quality tier story.

But looking at the anime PV. I felt regret. And a feeling of despair(sad. Just sad really). The best way to explain it(i guess) is that I feel like Eren when I found out about the anime.

I'll leave it at that for now. Not gonna talk too much on the negatives >.> New studio, it's 1st anime made. Questionable art design changes.
This feels like it's gonna have Alderamin syndrome. (Great LN, disappointing anime adaptation IMO)

Damn, those lips annoy me for some reason, and the insane eyes that make me feel like I look into the whirlpool of craziness also turn into some typical anime eyes. LN art just look so much better.

I recommand you follow the lightnovel next to it, for some extra information about the world and the war itself. it also has some deeper viewpoints of the side charaters.

out of overall animation quality the only thing that disturb me the most is Dat LIP and Anime Eye (that unrealistic big eye)

Me the only cared the technology of that world and its conflict they use(not visual appearance of characters)
Its like i watched madan no vanadis anime that put on my watchlist for its how they do it(tactics,bow usage that vanadis powers,politics on animation) than anime adaptation issues

I think I will watch the animation either way because I liked the LNs. I just hope that I don't get disgusted too much from that art quality. Men looks okay, but MC and the other little girls looked scary.

EXTRA: Isn't that song (at 2nd PV) made by the same people who made the Overlord's intro/outro? At least it's sounds so alike.

The only problem I have with the animation is that even though they draw the men decently, the girls look so... Like what the hell happened to Viktoria?! She looks like she's from another anime!

at least they got the uniform and aesthetic right this time. I mean in the manga the Empire is using German pre-WW 2 uniform and the Republic somehow ended up using French Napoleonic era uniform with its tall cap and powdered wig, while using first world war rifle and Equipment. The only thing that I don't like from the PV after Tanya´s Adjutant(Viktoria) oversized eyes (even though other character have "seinen" styled eyes), is the Haircut of the Empire´s (somewhat)young Glassed staff officer.

I mean seriously... in the LN and the manga he had clean cut short hair with trimmed bangs, that male military officer usually had, but in the PV, the military some how allowed his pseudo emo hairstyle to be kept. I know in other anime lots of its character have varied hairstyle that is even more extreme even though they are serving in the military, but... they are in the Army for God sake !!! One day, those hairstyle will be their doom when they are deployed into battlefield.

 

Last time Joker Game anime used realistic design and everyone looks normal spy but people complains that it's not stylized enough...

 

Joker game is already bad to begin with. I mean What the hell ! why the heck those group of western spies doesn't suspect a bit that one of their colague, who is the only asian in those group, to be the mole who was planted by the japanese all along. How the hell did they manage to become a spy ?

 

It's not the poster i'm worried about

It's the Promo Video itself.
The MC and the supporting female char are DIFFERENT from the manga. ( In not a good way if I may add )

Which is why I hope it won't be a negative as an adaptation.
