One of the most satisfying novel I read.
I could picture this into a live adaptation, maybe series but done in brilliant way, not the soap opera-ish that only involved 1 main family and several occurring characters and all the problem came from them and it'd go round and round, all we see is hate, envy and revenge. Nope.

When I chose this novel to read, I was interested in how the MC, Tang Feng transmigrated into the body of the son of the village head. Until this moment, I never read the same theme novel that had the MC as the son of the village head.

I'm having difficulty to write here, because.....this is a story of their daily life. There was not crook characters from the village that was nominated by the author as the scum lol Even if there was a love rivalry, it was gone by the time it started lol

What you're gonna read here, is just the life of villag head's family with his son as the bond to glue and made this a story of people.

This was a world without woman and ger as the replacement gender. Tang Feng was weak and sickly, his parents gave him a chongxi marriage with one of the ger in the village, when he wake up, it was his wedding day iirc. The parents loved him, and the father was also a good village head. MC was a doctor/medical practitioner before and to survive the ancient, since the family's money was drained to buy medicine for him, he walked the doctor route alongside the half scholar route.

ML was taller than him, and stronger too, his name was Lin Yu, the second son of three brothers. Lin Yu fell in love with MC (face lol) the first time he saw him, and asked his parents to agree to the marriage. Even though ML's family moved to the village a few years back, but his father, his older brother and him were good hunter, so their life was sufficient.

MC used his knowledge in medical and herb plants to be the village's doctor. As for money making business, he only used the making of kimchi, bacon, and sausage as the main drive. MC completely adapted to this ancient times, and to his life as a son and husband. It's truly peaceful in a way.

When I read early chapters, I was complaining with the lack of problematic characters, so the story could be more 'spicier' and not boring. But then, we'd read a villager's past life, then got entangled with MC, or a villagers were sick and asking MC's help. Many times, those villagers would only be introduced right there and gone. Sometimes the charaacters entangled with ML's brothers would show up and new trouble would brew. Because MC's father rly wanted to help the villagers to live better, MC also tried to give his father suggestion and ways to improve.

We're gonna see marriages, funerals, births, so many things happened until the end. It's like in tv drama series when a new episode is coming, we'll see new characters, a problem too, either it needs MC help to solve it or it'll just resolve by itself and then next week we'll see new villager character, new problem. Most of the time, MC and family wouldnt need to do anything, all they could do is watching and all I could do is dreading the outcome.
Reading the extras...I cried after that, coz it was good ending imo.

Cerene likes this.
