There was once a boy.
He grew up in a not so lovely place.
He had many scars, some physical, some emotional, some could be seen, some could not.
He always had his best behavior, & had become very adapt at hiding the pain. In fact he hid the pain form himself.
He felt that hiding the pain would relieve him from it. It did relieve him. It relieved him of his emotions.

He became a closed box, never asking for help, but he had his values. He never asked for help but always helped out, never asking for anything in return, and completed all tasks that he had. Whether he liked the task did not matter.

As he grew up, he started to dream of escape.
An escape from the dark place he was locked up in.
He dug out some paths , but nature wasn't so kind to the boy, closing the paths.

Finally on the last path, as he could see the light, he felt his legs grew heavy. He was shackled. He could not go far, knowing he had to return to the darkness some day, this time forever.

But for now, he did not want to think about that place. He could see a better world, not exactly wonderful but better than the world he came from. Though, even here he was hiding, from the world, from himself.

There comes an angel into this new world, just as or perhaps more damaged than the boy. Roaming around and radiating happiness to all those around, she spend her days, interacting with others, hiding from the world, but not from herself. Trying to heal.

Only God knows what she saw in the boy that she approached him, talked to him like no other before her had. The boy had, for the first time, felt warm.
The boy opened up. The angel opened up. There were floods.
The angel tried to help the boy, showing him the wonders of the world that had ignored him.
The boy tried his best to help the angel heal, for he could not see such an existence hurt.
The boy felt emotions for her. The angels had feeling for the boy, although not the same as him.

There was some restraint from her side.
It was understandable.
After all, she was an angel & he was just a boy.
They did not belong to the same worlds.
This meeting was only temporary. The boy knew this, he had to return one day.
The angel knew this & in an attempt not to hurt the boy in the future, she started keeping distance.

The boy felt coldness again & wanted the warmth to last longer. He knew the cold, dark world was waiting for him, at the end of his chains. He hoped the warmth could last longer.

Is the boy wrong to seek (although temporary) warmth?
Is the angel wrong in any way - in providing the boy with shelter, in keeping her distance, or in other ways?
Or is the world wrong for being the way it is?

I don’t think its wrong to seek comfort or warmth. Even if said warmth may have a high chance of getting torn away from you, at least you’ll have the memory and the experience.

And personally, I believe the world is not wrong for being the way it is. It’s not the world’s fault that horrible people and and horrible events happened to take place on this world.

Anyway…I hope the boy finds relief soon.

Desires when you taste them once are hard to let go of.
