MC name is Duan Shubai, a retired army soldier, and died while saving a child, and then woken up in anciant era, in a body of the same name. The Original was a general being demoted kinda as a prefect of a demoted poor desolate area after he paraded his brute-self in front of the emperor. Original was the typical brawn over brain general, he asked the emperor to marry him to a noble's daughter he took a fancy on. That noble's daughter didnot want to marry him, and the family gave one of their family's ger for the marriage. Original was very upset and maybe died of anger in the wedding night lol since they tricked him and he didnt like ger and MC took over.

ML was a noble son, his father died so his mother took care of him very careful, since they only have each other in the family. As a noble son, he had good upbringing. Now he followed MC to a place without mattress to sleep, only have porridge to eat, mice and all the poverty he could not imagine, made him broke down and cried. MC was having headache with his little husband, he didnot want to marry and take care other but he tried to understand him and after a talk, he found out that this noble spoiled son was actually very good. Eventhough ML was still spoiled and proud, but he was willing to suffer with his husband, living in dilapidated house, washing his laundry, cook for him, and do all things he wouldnt do in his noble household. Somehow MC feared his husband's temper (or his tears) and tried to spoil him, and this made ML to be nice to him too. That's how MC tried to be a husband, and feel in love with his little hisband and vice versa.

Duan Shubai, had this city construction system to help him constructing his city. As prefect, he had the highest authority (only below emperor) and could do anything. With his 100 soldiers that were willing to follow him, and start over, they changed the area rampant with bandits, pirates, poverty into prosperous big city. They system also rewarded him everytime he succeeded the task, with things like seeds, fruit tree, livestock, books on how to build water system, sewage, water transportation, iron mine, cement road, etc. MC was busy with his people and city, he didnot muck around with the capital thing. When the capital was in turmoil over throne, he just ignored it and strengthen his city and build his soldiers more into a capable defenders.

They had 3 children, and in the extra ML was pregnant with the fourth (after 10years). The oldest was very similar with MC's face and habit but with ML's temperament, and then following his father's step to become war general. The 2nd was a ger, the birth was difficult so he was weak and sickly. The third was another son that's also alike with MC, and want to go to battle.

MC was not a father before, so he didnot have this conception of being a father. There's this beautiful moment, ML tried to make his one year old son to speak and call 'father' to MC, since MC was going to go to battle and be away several months. With effort, the son could say father, but they didnt know whether he understood the meaning because he coaxed him with food. One time, while MC was playing with the son, the son then turned, looked at him, smile and say father. At this moment, MC was feeling so happy, and I think he (and the son) understands it. Ah, I cried reading this part.

There are a lot of characters here, it's understandable that the author wouldnt use them and forget them. The frequency of new characters show up is fast, yet they might not be mentioned again lol It's a 179 chapters only, not 300. Sometimes I dont understand how MC brain worked out the whole reasoning of how he deal with those insubordinate wayward citizens. I mean, he's some kind of governor, with a population growing in his cities, too naive or the way of logic in novel is useless lol

It's too bad that the author didnot dwell and write more on the city construction after the population went to 100k. I wish we would see more of city construction rather than making plans to battle with bandits, pirates, and all sort of military might. Though the thing with military and all sort of battle were the one making this novel a bit different with the others. We also dont get to know what'll happen with MC and the system throughout the end eventhough the story went on to their children growing up and married.

Ah, this is really good novel. Yes, I will read it again.
