This is a pretty simple advice blog in the dear abby style. If you find it boring... just don't post.

How to Submit
  • Please use a letter format (Dear Pasta...). This will make it obvious you are writing to me and not just commenting/replying.
  • Comments in this blog should be:
    • Asking for Advice (Publically, but please feel free to give yourself a fun nickname like: From DealyLovedN0ob)
    • Official Replies from me or another Abby (list at bottom of post)
    • Additional advice from users (please wait until after an Abby comments)
  • Additionally you can ask for advice without revealing your username by pming me your letter. I will post it (with the nickname and without mentioning your username) and my reply together.

      Dear Pasta,

      I was recently forgotten twice in the past week and was wondering what I should do. Being forgotten was rather jarring and if I didn't speak up, I'm sure I would have been passed by like tumbleweed.
      I actually found it rather amusing...I wonder if it will happen again...well I hope not.

      For some reason, I have the feeling that Pyoo was hired faster than I was. Oh well. I am not going to lament over it. ...that aside, it seems things have calmed down the past few days.

      It sounds like you are going through quite the ordeal. As you have already realized, life doesn't always have happy endings. You do have to know when to draw the line when supporting your friends in any capacity. You can help your friend or your best friend, perhaps even both, but you can't guarantee their happiness.

      Something like romance is something grown between two people. A seed can't sprout without proper care! The most you can do is find out some insider info (Are they open to same sex relationship? Does the girl even know who your best friend is?) and give them chances to interact.

      Sabotaging your best friends chances with the girl wouldn't help either. It's not a choice you can make for your friend. Help them interact and put in some light praise for your friend, but don't force them together. "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." Newton's law can work for people and not just physics! For any relationship to work, they need to grow together naturally.

      Dear @Ophious,

      It is not childish to desire a happy ending for everyone. Rather, it is what every normal person would desire as well.
      To be honest, I don't really know whether I am suited to be an Abby or not (mostly because of love questions such like these), but I will stay positive. I wonder where @Nom de Plume is though...
      I hope that everything goes well in the end.
