Drawing a pigeon

I was scared, really scared to draw the face. I felt that it would ruin the whole pigeon, but here is the thing, if you ever look at your incomplete drawing and think “is it good?”, It will never be good. Remember, the final product is supposed to be good, not the unfinished one with incomplete strokes.
I really dislike the back leg, I was learning on how many kinds of textures can I produce from one black pen, and I didn’t use the right texture for it. Now it just looks like a single black tube, sucks.
The tail is shorter than you would expect, It wasn’t until I was totally into it did I realized that I didn’t have proper space for tail feathers. I think with a longer tail, pigeon would have looked more magnificent.
Ah, for the reference, currently I’m reading a book on bird-watching, The Thing With The Feathers.
There are a lot of birds in it, for next I think vulture looks good to draw. There are robins, crows and kookaburras too.
