He's telling me how Alien Prometheus talks a lot about the mythos of God and the like, how the black goo is actually "blood" that the Engineers made that invades a host; and I'm just trying to rewatch a fun movie but I can't help but explain to him what both a parasitic pathogen is, and that the goo is actually a Bio-Weapon made out of tiny little organisms that squirm around as black goo.
At the end of the movie when Shaw wore her cross, my brother was like, "And she puts her cross back on," like he won or something. Like dude yeah anything's better than realizing your creators were frighteningly destructive aliens.
Take Elvis as an example, he died on the toilet, but you don't think about that because he's more well known for what he did alive than his cause of death.
Better to think of a dude in sandals than a dude with black goo.
