FAIRY BY THE LAKE

By the lake, under the moonlight
There's a fairy only I could see
She may not know this
But her existence enchants me

Her movements, so graceful
Those slight smiles, so lovely
But, what's most fascinating?
It's her eyes that glow iridescently

Behind the tree, under the shadows
I lurk, and watch her silently
As she raise her dainty fingers,
And plays an unforgettable melody

My pulse throbs with every note,
And resonates with every key
With closed eyes, I whisper
"Go on, enchant me."

And enchants she does
Cause I still lurk under the tree,
A year after she disappeared,
Leaving nothing but a memory

By the lake, under the starlight
There's a fairy I thought was for me
And like mirage, she vanished
And took my heart unknowingly

@Ddraig I'm actually not sure myself. I wrote it thinking of love as a theme. Then, before I noticed, it became unrequited love. Another stanza later, the fairy disappeared (probably died). Lastly, character regrets (or possibly resents) not doing anything at all.

For some reasons, most love poems I write don't end in happy endings :blobsweat:

So is this about love or death? coz it fits both. Reminds me a bit of robert frost poems with multiple interpretations
