Qatayef, a famous sweet treat in Egypt, is one of the main offerings of the local Ramadan. The dough is wrapped in the shape of a dumpling, which is similar to Chinese dumplings but only the size of an egg. In addition, raisins and nuts are stuffed inside, and finally fried to a light golden colour. They are usually dipped in honey for a sweet and crunchy taste.​
