Guide to being a Smartass
Lesson 1: Giving answers to simple questions
This is a very basic skill that anyone can utilize. Essentially, you have to take a question that is really easy to answer and then give an answer that isn’t wrong but also isn’t what the asker what looking for.
Examples:
Q: “I haven’t seen you in a while bro! What’s up?”
A: “The sky.”
In this example the asker asked “what’s up?” and expected to get an answer explaining what was happening in the answerer’s life or how they were feeling. Instead, the asker got the fact that the sky is up, which is not wrong, however it isn’t what they were looking for.
Q: “I’m feeling kinda hungry, what should I eat?”
A: “Food.”
In this example the asker wanted an actual suggestion of what to eat, instead they got the fact that they were going to eat food, which is obvious and not what they were looking for.
Q: “Don’t you think that girl looks pretty hot?”
A: “She looks to be at a normal temperature to me.”
In this example the asker expected the answerer to either agree with them, saying the girl was in fact hot, or disagree with them, saying that the girl wasn’t really attractive. Instead they got an answer about the girl’s temperature, which is very clearly not what they were talking about but also technically not wrong.
