@ElefantVerd Oooo Now I wanna read through his novels to find the quote.... it's been a while since I've read his stuff.
It was in one of the Arthur Clark Odyssey books, someone was saying something on the lines "we got free energy" "yeah, right, then you get too hot because of that free energy to the point you need to put a shade in front of the planet so it cools down a little". Don't remember the exact words or even what book was that, but it was only something en passant, so it's a miracle I even remembered it...
@ElefantVerd Oh wow, I hadn't thought of that. *ponder* Hah so is it possible this device will go the way of Tesla's research I wonder?
Global Warming will gets worse. All energy ends up degraded as thermal energy. If energy is free, nobody will cares if your lamp is on 24/7. Or your Air Conditioning. And on and on and on...
@GonZ555 That is a very good point. I remember hearing about how some of the materials/minerals used for mobile phones, for example, are scarce/rare. (that was badly said but I hope it got the message across... ^.^). But then a limited supply just means that the battery will be rare and expensive. ^.^ And so we come full circle and charms will become truly magical with unlimited energy... be inherited in wills...and eventually, when the technology becomes forgotten..... a mythical talisman. ^.^ This lifecycle could be a story of sorts.
