//I doubt this is even close to a review but pray do tell me if this can work as one if enhanced further

//Please dont open the spoilers unless you have read the book (screw that, I wont be having any spoilers at all as I would rather have you guys read it than getting spoiled)

//This started as a profile post but it seemed appropriate for a blog so yeah

Favourite character by far - Klausl, She is just so cute and loveable. (waifu level)

Now I personally found Ralf to be a better antagonist than Valeath, *has thought of super awesome punny line that unfortunately is filled with spoliers and/or references to certain things in story*
Ralf was evil, with good intentions that got twisted....His character despite clearly being evil and someone you dont wanna be around, is quite relatable. You constantly feel two sides in you fighting about how good/bad/something he is as you progress through the story.
Valeath, on the other hand, kinda falls short in that regard despite being the essentially parallel/changeable word/similar self, he is to Amon (our protagonist).
The parallel between Valeath, Moyla and Amon, Klausl is well done, again the Valeath part falls short of my expectation but Moyla - Klausl part was good. I especially like how after showing the parallels, it was clearly shown how they took divergent paths resulting in one being the hero and other villian, one being the tool and other, a companion.
Again like every book by her, this book too has a really interesting setting. I kinda love how city series is essentially a series of collection of 1 to 2 volume long stories with different casts for every city. Horizon and Owari's 15+ vol stories sure as hell are fun but this approach allows us to explore way more of the world without any restrictions of being on the same timeline.
Again this approach forbids 10+ vol char development but Minoru's find the truth, bla bla bla char development style works quite well in a single vol too....And the fact that it doesnt get stretched like it does in some of Owari's middle volumes is a plus too.
Overall the development of some of the characters was a bit lacking (I mean its 1 vol afterall, you can only have so much space for char development with this over the top, borderline absurd and just wonderful worlds, or in this case, cities)

Now will not pertaining to the story exactly, the use of Aerial in title by the author instead of Fictional is really interesting, especially when apparently the word representing fictional in japanese literally means Aerial.

//End of all random thoughts on the novel which I could manage to present in writing

Bad Storm, Tycheri and Emmyy like this.
